turkish airlines, nah forget that! flown 4 times with them and all of them were an awful experience. Wouldn't even jump at it even if it was a £100.

I had no choice, my trip was already booked in advance and I got a good price on them. I had 1 stop over on the way and back. So total was 4 flights. I just know that I wont ever be flying with them again no matter how cheap they are.

Oh really what was so bad abt it? I just flew with them last week and found them better than BA because:
1. Free food and drinks on the flight (unlike BA). 2. Free 23 kg checked in luggage (unlike BA). 3. On board entertainment system for a 4hr flight to Istanbul (BA has no entertainment system on most short haul flights). 4. Unlike BA, if you fly Turkish airlines you keep your laptop and mobile in hand carry. BA being loyal to Trump policies force you to check them in. 5. Turkish airlines was quiet a bit cheaper.
plus the plane was new and flight on time. What's there not to like?

just got back today!! weather was 40 degrees every day! I stayed at the Habtoor grand in the marina area. I didn't manage to go clubbing in the centre, around the Dubai mall area, so can't comment on above. I can comment on a beautiful clean and friendly city!
flight time should be 7 hours. the offer above shows an 10-11 hour flight time!
Sounds repressive, why would anyone want to go there?

Been there 8 times, most recently in August. Never had a problem. Probably go again next year.

Not ignorant. Did you not look at that BBC link?.
Not exactly a holiday when you have to watch everything you do in order to conform to these stupid rules or get thrown in jail.

Fantastic price! I'd be all over this if I actually had any leave for next year left, lol! Thanks to this site, I've got Japan next Summer and Vegas at Easter, although I might just be able to squeeze in a long weekend, especially as you get no jetlag.I'm off to Abu Dhabi next month and can't wait

Can the narrow minded fools please take their politics and intolerance somewhere, perhaps to the Misc forum where al lthe other intolerant plonkers dwell? These are good prices for the destination and the travel time/transfer at Istanbul isn't very long.
Vote on the prices/value of the deal and not because it's somewhere you are too scared of going, or it's a country filled with the type of people you hate etc

I hate to tell you this, but TA do have a terrible rep; and if you dig further, they are also one of the most dangerous airlines to fly with; way up in the top 10 for deaths per 100k passengers last time I looked. I believe that for a while, back in the noughties, they were banned (or threatened with being banned), from EU airspace because their planes were so badly maintained.
Dubai is also a place where you DONT want to get in trouble with either the locals or the law.
And as per my earlier post, it isnt a place that makes women feel welcome, I would strongly try to dissuade any unmarried woman from travelling there, or a married one without their husband.
On the plus side, it is clean, the beaches and sights are great, and there is almost no crime on or around the tourist areas (as losing a hand means most crims dont risk it).

Intolerance???
I don't think people avoid Dubai for this reason. Did you read what Gentle_Giant says, even painkiller would make us foul with the authority over there!!!! :astonished: By the way I did not vote cold or hot for this deal.

For a bloke, Dubai IS GREAT!! For a woman, less so.
Ladies, be warned that in most bars, if the girls arent serving behind the bar or clearing tables - they are hookers. If you still arent certain, then talk to them, if they reply with a Russian accent, they are a hooker*
In two weeks I spotted precisely 4 non hookers, 2 walked in with hubby/BF, took about a minute to suss it out, and forceably dragged their male companion out of the building, the other two were a pair, drunk as skunks and didnt care less.
This is especially true of any nightclubs located in a big Hotel.
(I was supposed to be there for a romantic holiday, but got ditched at the last minute and spent the 2 weeks drowning my sorrows on the cheap booze, then baking it out on the beach).
* There were a couple of gorgeous Ethiopian girls hooking at my favourite bar, but all the rest were from the 'stans, and 'kents, including one 6 1/2 foot tall, cigar smoking blonde who reminded me of a certain guy from "The A Team"
Also be aware that some common cold and painkiller ingredients are illegal over there, and they WILL lock you up for 2 years if they find them on you.
