There is no disagreement. people have a choice. I simply provided information to allow them to make better choices.
It does not matter to me what they do with their money. we all have experiences bad and good and that is useful to feed into the forums so people can weigh up peoples experiences.

This is a deal for a specific type of battery - this battery is a good deal if you are looking for this type of battery. I'm sure there are other batteries that may be better, and some that may be worse. Please feel free to post your own deal on any other battery deal on your own deal page rather than putting a downer on others simply trying to do a nice thing.

Its not a good deal when you can spend 1/3rd of the price for the equivalent product which may even perform better. All alkaline batteries operate within around a 10% life of each other. There is no reason to spend over 3 times for one because it is on "offer" - I use the Kodak ones and have not had the experience you claim to.

batteryshowdown.com/res…tml. Read and weep. The best value batteries are the cheapest. The batteries you get from the likes of poundland, 99p stores and ikea are better performing than those expensive ones you pay for in your supermarkets. In the end there is negligible difference between battery brands - energizer have exactly the same profile as Duracell and many supermarket brands are one or the other. Also the branding name does not reflect its effectiveness - Pro, Max, long life, etc are all meaningless.

You must have been lucky, tried poundshop and other places, the batteries are absolute s***! A recent pack of Kodak bought from a 99p store, none work - turns out they are fake, so they will just end up in the bin. At the same time, we have been paying proper money for batteries and they are lasting ages in long devices - lesson learned well and truly. Sometimes you get what you pay for. These crap batteries are just adding to landfill, its not worth it.

You must have purchased Kodak zinc carbons. Alkalines is what you need, you get less in a pack though
