Why is this expired, it's just currently OOS, bit you can still order it at this price.
This shouldn't be expired, Shirley?

I think in an apples to apples comparison that you'll find that the nicads win on the budget end and lithiums on the prosumer/ professional end.
This is of course the budget end and advice must be given accordingly.

Nicads if looked after will beat a lipo for two reasons. Most consumer grade lipo batteries will be current limited so the drill will.not.be able.to do torque stuff very well like long screws. And it also needs to stop voltage going below critical so it will stop earlier than is ideal. Nicads will provide torque and longevity and can be charged fast. They are just a bit heavier. They are by no means obsolete.

I found battery longevity seems to be less on Ni-Cads than Li-Ion drills. My last 2 drills were Ni-Cad and the batteries gave up. My Li-Ion DeWalt has outlasted both of them and still works fine.

Buy this with reasonable expectations and I think it may be a bargain.

Well... No. Will still drill wood and various other materials just fine. And can be used as a screwdriver. I'm not expecting it to match my bosch psb1200 but.. It's £13. Ok for a few things around the house before the battery dies after 7 charges.
Showing OOS but can still order. So take a chance, they might get em back. Or you'll be getting an email in 3 months saying they're still trying to get a better estimate of when it will arrive.

For that money, who cares?? NiCad might be old tech, but the battery life time is better, even if it doesnt hold so much power each time. My last NiCad didnt really start losing much charge until it was over 5 years old; which is longer than I ever expected it to last anyway.
