That's exactly why I thought, we got a rather meaty Bosch one I bought whilst living in Austria a couple of years ago and though it's a blinding vacuum cleaner the missus is always moaning about it's weight when she does the stairs but I don't think this is going to be a lighter weight option.

This isn't an amazing deal. Better deals even cheaper within the last month for newer models. The DC54 animal regularly drops to about this price. DC28 is old tech.

They're the same unit apart from the floor tool and accessories.
This (dc28c) comes with the musclehead which is a bit jack of all trade, master of none.
Dc39 animal comes with the motorised floor tool so great for carpets & dealing with pet hair.... sometimes also comes with the hard floor tool.
Dc39 multifloor is good for hard floor & low pile carpets. Not so good on deep pile or for pet hair.

Useful info TCB is 1% (£1.45p) as a voucher code is used. Checked Santander and Nationwide card offers, but nothing there for Co-Op electrical. No NUS discount either. However, if you use your Co-Op members card you will have option to use any Membership Reward money you have sitting in your account. In my case that was only £1.79, but every little helps!
