Blimey... Just traded mine in at CEX earlier today for £38! I expected this to drop quickly, but not that damn quickly!
Enjoyed my time with it but didn't want to fill myself up too much with the starter when the main course is on the way...

60fps and mouse + keyboard... It felt an absolute joy to play during the PC beta, so really looking forward to the full thing.
Not belittling the console versions in any way, m+k is just my personal preference for first person games and it just felt right from the first headshot (despite putting hundreds of hours into D1 already)

Maybe not an issue for some but Simply end up sending out the European/Middle Eastern version for some games despite having the picture of the UK version of the game on their website. Heat for the price but I'll avoid this retailer.

You know, I do read this a lot on here and don't doubt anybody saying it. But I've bought in the region of about 40 games off SimplyGames in the past and only one (Alien Isolation) came as the European version. Every other game was for the UK market. That said, I also had no issue in trading in games from Europe before with CEX or Game. They just stick their own barcode over the top.

Felt like a decent improvement to me, but I guess that wouldn't be too hard... Pacing seems a lot better, and there's usually a bit more exposition than "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain"
The score is absolutely fantastic btw, definitely one to play with headphones/surround sound cranked up.

Amazing game. Miss some aspects of destiny 1 but my friends list is lit up with Destiny 2 players again and catching up with loads of people. Involved with 2 clans too. Voted hot for the deal, for a newly released game.

But I personally will boycott this game and if you plan on buying I would urge you to wait for a bit. Activision will try to increase the user-base as much as possible, since they expect to profit of Micro-transactions and Destiny has a Pay to Win system implemented like those scummy free to play mobile games. In addition to that they have in-game currency and loot boxes which aside from being vile ethic.

Basically it is a teen rated game with a full blown out gambling system, which last time I checked in the UK , should be aimed at people over 18. Activision is preying on children to maximize their profits, but I don't see any media covering that. It feels good to get that Advertisment money, doesn't it?

I've been playing this game alot since release - for £32 you could easily get 30-50 hours of gaming out of this which compared to many others is great value. I like D2 alot but I can appreciate it wont be for everyone. If you have a few people to play it with it will be much more fun but most of the game can be done solo or joining random players when needed. I didn't really play the first Destiny and when I did, I disliked the lack of auto-matchmaking in the game.

D2 is best described as an FPS Diablo clone (Diablo 2 is probably in my top 10 games list). Whilst you do end up doing the same things over and over (PvE) it's not completely dull as you chase for the better stuff (guns). There is always PvP as well which also rewards players with better stuff as well but I've not invested in learning the maps which is always key to success in PvP.

The game does have some tough end game content (for noddies like me anyway). A 6 man raid which is dividing opinion on whether it's any good. The weekly changing Nightfall Strikes / 3 man mission instances require lots of planning / playing attempts to complete as they are time limited. There is a useful Destiny phone app which helps with finding people to do the end game content as not all is auto-matchmaking. Overall, I think the end game content is lacking at the moment (if you don't like PvP).

I'm playing on the Xbox One and it looks and sounds great. The PC version is out in a month and this will be the Ultimate Edition of D2.

As with the first Destiny, this game will require the Season Pass in a few months. However, given that it is an MMO style game they will need a future revenue stream to keep the servers running and the content coming. I can see why some people get all whiny about this because this usually means companies hold back features to sell later but unlike many other games, this one is straying into the MMO style arena so it needs the extra content. The alternative is a monthly fee or you have to pay to unlock stuff in game. D2 has a bit of pay to unlock stuff but it's mostly pointless in my opinion. I personally dislike the free to play / pay to win style games ala Warframe because I would much rather know what I'm expected to pay out before I begin playing a game (even if it is a fixed monthly fee). In a perfect world the initial game outlay would pay for the initial and future development but Bungies business model doesn't work this way / is out to milk the consumer.

I'm not biting until a GOTY edition is available.

I bought vanilla destiny, then for ~£25 extra upgraded to the Taken King, I never tried the last one after baulking at the cost of the DLCs.

Their pricing model leaves a lot to be desired, I loved destiny (as a solo and PUG player), the gunplay is one of the best feeling shooters i've ever played and I have played a lot... but destiny 2 is not on my radar until DLCs are out and there is maybe a GOTY version.

I don't know who told you all of that but Destiny 2 is FAR from having a Pay to Win system. Yes, it is possible to make in-game purchases but the only thing you get from them are cosmetic skins (which can also be obtained by naturally playing the game) and they give you absolutely zero advantage over other players.
I am as against pay to win as anybody, but when micro transactions have no bearing on my playing of the game and don't put me at any disadvantage to other players I really couldn't care less about them.

I'm happy to sit it out. Destiny 1 burned me with the first expansion pass, then another, then the last DLC. People who invested in Destiny since the beginning, like myself, ended up spending over £100 to get the "full" Destiny experience. Content that was cut from the game to sell as DLC.

That's a bit of a stretch... They did have an underhanded tactic of putting DLC content in daily/weekly playlists last time around, but that doesn't mean the entirety of the game becomes unusable in an instant. I still had plenty of fun with it and didn't buy the DLC until TTK came out.

Got the game plus the expansion and digital tracker code brand new off ebay for £50
(Was £60 but had a spend £30 get £10 off code that ebay sent me)

Said I wouldn't buy it as Destiny 1 stole so many hours of my time..........damn I resisted just a few weeks and now I'm going to have to try and catch everyone up.

Wonder how much better the PC version is. No mates on PC version but bet the eye candy should be good.

Only have a i5 2500k and a 7950 graphics card from a build I did 5 years ago. Not sure if would be better than PS4 or not.....hmmmm....i appear to be waffling....will go now.....bye

Like I said before, it's a fantastic experience on PC if mouse and keyboard is your preferred control scheme. Not too sure about the GPU, but your CPU should handle 60 FPS no problem (played the beta on my 2600k)... It's a social game though so probably best to go where your friends are at the end of the day.

What are you talking about? Since when had buying shaders and cosmetic items been pay to win??

I totally understand hating the price model and of course, being a vanilla phase Destiny 2 player will cost a lot of money in the long run. I’m ready for it! They really haven’t designed this game (or price model) for the casual solo player. The story is fun but there’s a reason you are meant to have fireteams of 3 - 6 people. Combining weapons, abilities and styles make for a lot of fun.

I joined destiny 1 after the third Dlc (there were 4 I think). I clocked up 1060 hours of play! I started playing solo but then used PSN communities and LFG sites to find others. The game is utterly repetitive to run solo. But playing with groups and people who become friends is where you just get on with the game and not think about the cost. Even paying £20 for the final DLC of destiny 1, I had way more hours of enjoyment than anything else I’ve been playing.

Fortunately in destiny 2 they added guided games. So if you don’t want to delve into LFG or commmunities , you can search for a team for the Nightfall. Or even find a clan who are looking to guide someone new through the raid. You’ll meet people and add a lot of value to the game.
Also so they have emphasised clans. Took a while but it’s running now. Even if you don’t plan on raiding or going flawless, when a team from your clan go flawless or beat the raid during that week (Tuesday to Tuesday) you get an engram which will drop an item from that event. Yep, you can get a full set of a raid gear just for being in a clan who beats the raid weekly!

Overall you just needn’t to shoot and loot. You’re not looking to beat the campaign and be proud of it, I mean you can solo the campaign almost with your eyes shut so don’t expect a badge for it! You’re looking to obtain these rare and exotic items that make the game play another way. And to show off that you probably got the weapon before your mates. (Not crying that people have the vigilance wing before me!)

I totally get people refusing to buy now in the knowledge it’s going to cost nearly £150 potentially to get the full game. That’s fine. I know I’m gonna spend that (forget micro transactions!). But if you’re prepared to put the hours and friendships in to enjoy the game, you’re actually getting a lot for your money. I’m probably on over 200 hours and counting already! I could buy 4/5 games for £150 and not come near those hours between them. Rant over :joy:

Not really.

Just a year ago the full pack with all DLCs "Destiny: The Collection" released.

Today, only 12 months later, you agree nobody plays it.

How worthwhile is it to wait until the end of the lifetime of a game, particularly a online game meant to be played online, to save money in all DLCs, but start playing it when nobody plays it?

So much nonsense being spoke about this game usually by people who haven't even played it.
It's not pay to win, the few things you could buy are just cosmetic. It's not a cash cow people talk about the future extentions and mention paying £150 for one game. Your not your paying for this game it's got more content in it as a basic game than any other FPS shooter game, all the halo games for instance can be completed in just over a week with Destiny the more you complete the more it opens up in the game. When new extentions come out you can buy them but you certainly get your money worth as a stand alone game especially at this price. It's a cracking FPS.
