Are SSD prices starting to come back down, let us hope so. Not the cheapest ever but this is the lowest this has been since May. Also not the fastest, however does everyone really need an even faster boot drive? NVMe drives at this price tend to be half the storage, only to gain in limited usage or benchmarks.
Must be noted this is an Internal Drive for use with an available M.2 slot (2280) Might fit your laptop and if you have built a new PC recently, typically with an Intel Z or AMD X370 based motherboardf it will likely fit without an adapter, check first.

You could also put it into one of these - Transcend TS-CM80S - to make a cheap portable SSD. I bought one a few weeks ago and it's a nice enclosure (not many reviews though the only bad one is from someone trying to fit the wrong type of SSD in there)

If you don't mind 2nd hand, you can have 2x the size, and 3x the speed for only £60 more: 1TB NVMe m.2 for £190 @ CEX:
Hell if you're feeling daring, you could probably flip that on ebay for ~£50 profit.

Same product on ebay is ~£50 more. It's cheap because CEX is selling Dell returns that are broken down for parts.
TLC NVMe is still really fast; much better than SATA, just not quite as fast as MLC NVMe. Longevity might be a concern if you're using it as scratch drive, though with the current rate of depreciation the drive will be near worthless long before it dies from wear.

Still a great price for a M.2 SATA SSD, have some heat!
You can also turn these into portable hard drives with a cheap enclosure, I love them.

It's the same speed as a standard SSD but in the M2 format. So, you could purchase a standard SSD and save a bit of money. There are really only 2 advantages for the M2 socket: A neater build, and; Faster PCI speeds. As this drive doesn't take advantage of the faster speeds, you are really paying extra for the neat build.

You buy a SATA to M.2 extension cable. Cut a hole in your case, thread the cable through. Attach the drive to the cable, then cable to M.2 slot. Then use duct tape to attach it to the laptop. :relaxed:

That is a fair point. Though you also gain from being able to run less cables in your case, that further aids airflow. I know NVMe drives can be 4 times faster but in real life scenarios you probably won't notice much difference.
Neat builds always cost more. As do LED lights, windowed cases, sheathed cables, etc. :smile:

It depends on what you call a good deal. I'd say for a decent sized Storage device, that someone may need now. Then yes it is. For anyone prepared to wait, maybe not. For anyone living in the past, well there is no helping them.
