Last time I chose 3 items from the 2 for £15 range and I paid full price for 2 items and got one free but it did work out cheaper still.

Also worth watching Amazon if you after just one item as often they reduce prices to reflect the Argos 3 for 2.

I have most of my Christmas shopping in for both kids already. Only bought a handful of things from Argos in the sale but mostly shopped on amazon. 3for2 is pants, I've never been a fan.

This deal basically equates to a third off full price toys (as long as you buy the same priced products). Decent savings, but Argos always increase prices to RRP to reflect the deal and Amazon usually comes to the rescue by matching the deal price.

Agreed but people who are complaining about the "deal items" wouldn't get amazons offers if Argos didn't run these promotions in the first place. Also some people don't choose to shop online or with Amazon for various reasons including amazons work practices, tax avoidance some people will show support to the high street retailers so they carry on.

Nowhere near as good as it used to be. Lots not included in 3 for 2 and anything that is has had any discount removed. Not to mention website is only partly working. I've an extra 10% off code due to minecraft Xbox glitch and it's still not a good deal. :persevere: think I'll use my code on house stuff instead. Santa will be shopping elsewhere.

If all the items you are after have the 3 for 2 badge, it may be worth removing the items from your basket and adding them again to see if that resolves the issue. Sometimes argos website issues are browser specific, so it may also be worth trying in a different browser (eg google chrome) if you have one.

Theyve put their prices up £3 -on items Ive looked at some months ago. So in reality you're paying for the free item in the price increases.
Best to check prices at other stores. May get it cheaper anyway.

For example the first item I was going to buy as part of 3 for 2 was a Fisher-Price Think & Learn Teach 'n Tag Movi toy, this was £54.99 at Argos. I then had a quick google, to find that Smyths sell it for £39.99 and Amazon have it for £35.99. That is £19 cheaper already.
I then found the second item I would have bought which was Lego. Again it was cheaper to buy from Amazon.
So don't be surprised to find out that even with 3 for 2, your purchases could cost even MORE than elsewhere without 3 for 2.
Just a heads up.
After my findings from the first two items I have looked at, I can not give this heat - you are probably not getting the bargain you think you are.

I reserved loads before the 3 for 2 started and went into store and the prices had gone up on the individual items, however Argos has to honour the reserved prices and I got 3 for 2 on original prices. Technically, by them putting prices up you don't save much. But reserving in advance is the way forward.
