Are compact cameras still used as most people are using their mobiles?

Of course - you cant compare the quality - smartphones will have more pixels, but pixels do not equate to quality. A £800 smartphone will produce photos that are pretty good in good sunlight, but still not better than this cheap camera. A camera will produce far better pictures in less than optimal conditions and then if you need to use a zoom then there is no comparison.
Side by side my 20mp cameraphone's photos even in ideal conditions cannot produce the same level of detail or have the range of real options as my 12 mp camera.

Maybe not by the younger generation but certainly by the older generation as its easier to use and compact.

Is there actually any stock (checked 3 different areas in and out of London), when the price ends in £xx.97 it means its pretty much gone...

How will this compare to the Google pixel camera? I reckon that the pixels sensor is about the same as the one on this. Are there any camera people who could enlighten me ?
