Installed, played for 2 minutes, uninstalled. Then played a couple of rounds of BF1 and realised what a better series it is. Always has been and always will be. This COD reminded me of the early 2000s Castle Wolfenstein mp demo- just not as good

This. I had the exact same thought.
Actually, I still from time to time go back to playing Enemy Territory, the community was still alive and kicking when I last checked. I would much rather play that.

I didn't struggle in 2012 which was the last time I remember playing it consistently. I honestly can't see that the numbers would drop off if they lasted until then.
I also put it on an old system for the kids to jump in and play the other year and they were still finding matches but the older hardware/OS was able to run the classic ET pro mod.
I think ET legacy is the latest mod version of it and doesn't connect with ET pro so that may have split the player Base a bit.
It's tempting to download it again but I haven't the sort of time for that kind of addiction!

What a legend  - Thanks for posting this, after Infinite spiderman idiocy I'm very wary of CoD games.. this looks good but giving it a trial before committing hard cash is the best option..

It's a good game. If you say that it is a carbon copy of other CODs then you are probably right, however, it doesn't mean it is a bad game. Besides aren't most games like Halo the same as previous ones in their series?

I'm hoping it's as good as WaW. Gameplay I've seen wasn't promising but hoping it is when playing it

Worth noting this can be downloaded now so pre loaded from steam so ready to go on the 29th. Huge Battlefield fan and loving BF1 but going to give this a go and hoping it will live up to the hype, no jet packs yeah!

I hoped this would be a chance for a CoD reboot but looking at gameplay it just looks like another copy and paste of the previous games but with a WW2 skin. When you look at the evolution of something like Battlefield, CoD just looks dated and bland.

As someone who loves Battlefield I can't help but disagree about how it has "evolved" if anything it peaked at BF4 and everything since then has been a step backwards. Hard-line was non-sensical, Battlefront (if you include that as a BF game) was a cash grab and BF1 felt like an arcade version of a BF game.
Anyways on the subject of CoD, I only ever buy it for the single player, it's usually pretty good. Never got on with the multiplayer, I'd rather play CSGO or Battlefield 4.

People who have played the console beta: is "war mode" basically a point capture mode?

Awesome! The last time, for me, a CoD game was good was Cod 1 and 2. Classics!

Been hoping it'll come to PC to try.
