Dymo currently have a promotion where if you buy their LabelWriter label packs, you get a free label printer.
If you purchase cheapest Dymo 1983173 labels on Amazon for £4.79 each then you can get the following label printers:
450 (buy 4 packs of the above labels) - £19.16 (printer currently £53 on Amazon) 4XL (buy 7 packs) - £33.53 (currently £153 on Amazon) 450 Duo (buy 8 packs) - £38.32 (currently £140 on Amazon)
You need to send proof of purchase to Dymo and they will send you the machine within 4 weeks. The promotion is only valid for purchases of labels up to 30th September 2017.
You can buy other Dymo labels to suit your needs (eg larger labels for the 4XL), the list of labels you can use are in the terms on the Get Deal link. I just chose the cheapest labels that were compatible with the machines.
Can please provide the link for the XL pack please

I ordered them from Amazon before they were out of stock but it said they'd dispatch 14th September. Amazon won't give you an invoice till they've been dispatched so just delays the whole process really. I'd rather order the labels somewhere else and cancel the Amazon order.

This might help people: The 2 x pack (S0722370) is in stock and is listed as an eligible purchase item to qualify for the printer! It's £6.57 BUT you're getting double the number of labels and it is prime so is guaranteed next day delivery. It costs £45.99 using this method do you're paying £12 more but are getting nearly 1,000 more labels meaning they are costing you 1.2p per label
I actually used S&S to save me more money by changing the delivery date to next week and adding 4 cheap items to unlock the 15% discount. I figured I use the extra £4.50 saving to absorb the cost of the S&S items making them cheap/free.

Think very carefully about whether you need one of these. It worked out MUCH cheaper and easier for us to buy a b&w laser printer and some A4 label sheets than one of these when you factored in ink/label costs.
williham to jeeeeeez

Depends - if you print hundreds of the same label then a4 sheets definitely work out cheaper, if you do lots of individual labels it's much easier to use this and no ink costs, non branded labels are super cheap on ebay.

The fact is you don't need 3 printers so clearly have bought them to make a profit which others could have benefited from. Also i doubt they will give you 3 printers as the offer will be for 1 so once you have claimed for 1 it will get flagged up. Well let's hope so anyway.
JJJZ to vtec
3 Sep 17#71
Clearly I HAVE NOT. Bought for business (clearly stated ) in which we needed different setups without swapping as time critical and redundancy for print outs as we despatch plenty daily and cant afford failure.
You know like royal mail smaller labels with address, our larger courier same day services labels, barcodes etc.
Limit to 3 per address/person etc.
Clearly my business is the type Dymo want who become regular buyers of their labels for large sums of £££ and transition from laser printer with label pockets.
Wind your neck in presumptuous so and so. Always one uppity cheeky so and so.
vtec to JJJZ

Bla bla troll. Must live a miserable existance pick up on someone literally saying 'one' as a metaphor. Who buys these other than for business at mass volumes? Oh I know 'I get kicks out of buying and wasting money on label printers...'
Nothing wrong with being efficient with a business. Think you will find most with money dont waste it when its hard earned
We've ran sticky pocket label pouches but to transition to new systems is usually a test and takes convincing of staff particularly in a warehouse as mechanics can break. Reliability is essential in a fast paced environment.
Staff dont like change - if it aint broke dont fix it.
This makes trying out a no brainer. Pretty sure Dymo will be happy of the business that goes their way.
If ordering 3 was an issue Dymo wouldnt have offered it but they understand businesses havent got time to swap out varying sizes of labels and warehouses are spread out with inventory stock stations scattered.

Like give it a rest, your allowed to claim three, he claimed three, why do you think this will somehow effect other people getting the deal? There's around 20 websites where you can buy the labels, no mention of a limited claim amount ie first 1000 people on the claim site, really not understanding where your coming from.
OrangePotato to vtec

Why would it be 2 less people who could have benefitted? Deals like this aren't subject to stock. If it was a problem then Dymo wouldn't allow 3 per person

Excellent deal! Reminds me of the previous Dymo offer from 2011 - still got my 450 and it's still going strong!
Re: bundle packs it looks like the T&C specifically exclude these so even if a pack has several rolls, you will still need to purchase 4/7/8 individual packs.
Also as far as I can tell the T&C only mention proof of purchase - therefore ordering from Amazon (or elsewhere) where the items are currently out of stock (e.g. the S0722370 on Amazon for £6.57/pack) should still be ok as you can still upload 'proof of purchase'. Doesn't look as though it has to have been dispatched or received...

If it helps anyone. I claimed my 3x XLs by ordering 3 x 7 x these amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1 - they were £6.57 originally and it appears Amazon have raised the price to £8.97. Its 2 rolls of 130 labels so you get plenty labels and the printer by the end of the deal. Its still a cheaper way to get the printer and you get the benfit of plenty labels or as some suggest sell the excess.
Im going to test with these smaller ones then order up the larger labels when the printers come in based on where they are cheapest. The bigger ones will be most important for fulfilling our orders with these printers. Im hoping they dont jam often and speed up the process.

So where is everyone getting their labels from? Not as cheap as original Amazon price in the OP, but i just bought 7x 1983173 small labels for £37.61 inc. delivery from officemachines.net. Delivery in 1-2 days, but VAT receipt to follow within 24 hours of ordering if anyone still looking to buy them

Are you sure that retailer is included in the promotion? They aren't in the drop down list but you can select 'other' so maybe they'll be accepted. It might be best to check with Dymo via live chat.
21benson to FireOnAWire
7 Sep 17#165
I did think that, but then saw the 'other' option on the Dymo form, so am hoping will be OK. It's a VAT receipt from a legit company, so fingers crossed. Should be able to submit receipt tomorrow, will report back

Well, because Amazon ran out of stock, they dispatched 2 packs last week, and 5 packs this week. Unfortunately this means even though I ordered 7 in one order, they've generated 2 different invoices... It clearly states in the t&c's that they must be on one invoice...
Been on the phone to Amazon they won't generate a new invoice, so I'm stuck with 7 packs of labels now without being able to apply for the printer... I'll see if I can get in touch with Dymo and explain the situation but what a mess.
Only other option is to return the labels, then buy elsewhere but can't find any as cheap as the original Amazon link.
dannyboy20 to onzabikes
7 Sep 17#166
When you originally ordered from Amazon and they sent the confirmation email, didn't it just say 7 packs on there?
That's all i've uploaded to Dymo, the confirmation emailm and they say my claim for the 7XL has been approved.

The order confirmation should be enough. Although I have had 0 e-mails or other communications, dymo customer service assures me my claim has been approved, dispatch pending. I only uploaded an order confirmation (not an invoice).
I didnt have anything from Dymo so I contacted just to confirm and they told me its site issues. My 3 XLs have been approved and will be with me within 4 weeks.

I paid £37.61 inc. delivery for 7 packs of Dymo 1983173 labels from officemachines.net on Friday last week and I just had my claim confirmed today.
The Dymo website went from 'In Review' to saying there is an error and to ring customer services. I did this (0203 564 8354) and spoke to an operator who confirmed my claim has been approved and my printer will be here within 4 weeks.
I ordered Friday but they emailed to say the labels were OOS on Monday due to high demand regarding the promotion and they will send them when the new stock arrives in 2-3 days. You still get the VAT invoice within 24 hours after you place your order anyway though, so then just upload straight to Dymo

Just spotted the cheapest labels at the moment are the Dymo 1983173 LW Address Labels, 28 x 89 mm from Staples, at £5.26 plus you can get 10% cash back from Topcashback. They are not in stock and will ship in 10 to 15 days, but i'm using the email confirmation as proof of purchase as invoice will be sent out after labels dispatched. If Demo want the Invoice i will upload when i get the invoice. So it should be ok as they say you have 14 days to supply any information that we request.

Just a heads up, in case someone else has this issue....
I got the 450 way back in the old deal, and its used constantly by my OH at work. However she recently managed to get a label to fold up and stick on the thermal print head, which stopped it working in some sections. For some unfathomable reason they tried nail varnish remover to clean it, didn't help! What I did was make a fully black label and print several until the white lines in the label disappeared - I basically burnt off the residue.

Whats odd tho, is that Staples are still selling them on their website (and still saying delivery in 10 odd days), i just added 7 to my cart to test. They had already cancelled my order too. So wondering if to just order form staples again.

I'm saying that you can check the timeline of registrations by changing the claim reference. This deal was posted on 2nd September. The claims are being dealt with in order they were received. I and others have been scratching our heads as to why some of us have waited weeks even though only claiming a couple of days later.
It transpires these people (yes people posting in this thread) are liars and made their claim well before they said they did.
I can see that currently Dymo have got up to claims from 6th of September.
No big deal just an observation  Everyone here is a profiteering bag of filth when you boil it down at some time or another but the way some frown at others for grabbing free stuff to make some money but are happy to lie to make themselves look virtuous a few minutes later, is quite telling of the reality of the human condition.

EDIT: The box is irrelevant really unless you're trying to sell on, but I'd be annoyed if the machine itself was second hand as that's not what was offered.

The machine itself looks brand new. It has all the plastic wrapping you'd expect on it. The glossy plastic top shell is unmarked.

So it's fine don't worry about it. Mine for example said it was 'repair' on the receipt and it had all wrapping and looked untouched.

Good to know but the invoice inside says 'Repair: Spare part supply'.
OrangePotato
4 Oct 17#296
It isn't mentioned anywhere in the promotion details but Dymo Support confirmed that they're new units. My best guess is that the brown boxes are due to shortages in their supply chain. That could explain the invoices too

My 2nd lot were ordered 14.9 so I still have a wait by the looks of things. I'd wager that the 4XLs are new though. The brown boxes do not mention refurb or anything similar....Look pristine to me with the plastic covers etc.

That's good to know. Thanks for the info.
I've just found that my Dymo LabelManager PnP has stopped working (dead battery). I have no idea why it has an internal battery. Hopefully they replace that for me under their 3 yr warranty.
I just received the machine I ordered on the 5th. Still waiting to hear from the ones from the 7th. I guess they're somewhat regretting this promotion :stuck_out_tongue:
harmageddon
4 Oct 17#301
They are hoping that we will buy original labels afterwards, and quite a few will, so they will win overall, there is huge markup on labels for them. The classic promotion gone wrong was the Hoover one going back quite a few years. Hoover offered free flights to the USA to anyone purchasing a Cleaner (don't remember the exact terms) but most people bought cleaners for £99 and claimed flights worth 2 or 3 times that. Hoover ended up going bust in the UK.

Email demand for units within 7 days or you will be making a small claims case against them as they are in violation of contract. I'll be doing that next few days as 4 weeks today since sending off claims.

Nope. You buy however many printers yourself then make a small claim case against them for the cost of those printers + hassle.

" Hello,
It has now been more than 4 weeks since the claim was initiated for the 3 claims dated 8th September 17 for 3 x “Dymo 4XL Printers”
The terms of the offer state the printer will be supplied within 4 weeks of completing the claim.
4 weeks has passed since completing the claim and no correspondence, no printers and no indication of dispatch of printers has been received by myself.
This email is to serve as notice that legal action will be taken to recover the costs of obtaining 3 x “Dymo 4XL” at retail value, thereby putting me in the position I would be in had Dymo honoured their part of the agreement, unless dealt with within 7 days of this email.
The current retail value as purchased direct from yourselves is £300 per printer.
I will be seeking a judgement to the sum of £900 in this case, plus any costs with respect to legal action which cannot be quantified at this time but will be added to claim, plus if allowable a sum for time in dealing with this case, an amount that cannot be calculated currently by myself.
Thank you,"

Some people have family or friends who'd like one of these, give them away etc. Some people don't have one but would like one and will then sell another 2. Some people will have one and will know they are worth money and sell all 3.
Any person can be all of those 3 people depending on who they know, what they do etc. Wouldn't judge any of those people differently personally.

What is so wrong with giving notice to a party that is not upholding their end of an arrangement? It's stipulated in any moneyclaim proceedings you have to give that notice so the other party has time to respond if you need to take legal action down the line. Not giving notice now means you will have to do so later in the unlikely event that the other party is not able to honour the agreement.
If it's simply a case of low stock, then a demand like that made just gets a proper official response, quickly and efficiently.
You might want to consider not interpreting a communication for legal resolution as some kind of expression of personal feelings on a matter.
If you're speechless, then can you explain why, or are we just here for feels?
tek-monkey
8 Oct 17#340
Just to clear up the stock issue, this page has said out of stock since at least the 17th and quite likely longer:
I absolutely think so, I'm sure they will honour the offer, its just been far more successful than they had anticipated. Their communication is poor however, and most likely needs to be improved, or they will be getting very irate emails and possibly further action.
As far as i'm concerned, if i have to wait another few weeks, it doesn't bother me, as its still a Free printer, and a decent printer at that. Yes i know we had to buy some labels, but no way does the money spent on labels go anywhere near what the printer would have cost.
The way i see it, they are humans just like us working there, all trying their best to put this right. We have all been there with our own jobs and businesses and annoyed customers or colleagues and thought 'i'm trying my best for you, please just cut me some slack'.
If i had paid for the printer full wack, i'd be less forgiving.

Either way, ignored so I don't have to read your ramblings. Enjoy planning your next day trip to the courts.

If you purchase cheapest Dymo 1983173 labels on Amazon for £4.79 each then you can get the following label printers:
450 (buy 4 packs of the above labels) - £19.16 (printer currently £53 on Amazon)
4XL (buy 7 packs) - £33.53 (currently £153 on Amazon)
450 Duo (buy 8 packs) - £38.32 (currently £140 on Amazon)
You need to send proof of purchase to Dymo and they will send you the machine within 4 weeks. The promotion is only valid for purchases of labels up to 30th September 2017.
You can buy other Dymo labels to suit your needs (eg larger labels for the 4XL), the list of labels you can use are in the terms on the Get Deal link. I just chose the cheapest labels that were compatible with the machines.

I haven't done this myself yet, but did contact Dymo and all the above is correct.
EDIT - PRICE HAS GONE UP ON THE LABELS ON AMAZON, EITHER BUY DIFFERENT LABELS OR USE A DIFFERENT RETAILER.

I ordered them from Amazon before they were out of stock but it said they'd dispatch 14th September. Amazon won't give you an invoice till they've been dispatched so just delays the whole process really. I'd rather order the labels somewhere else and cancel the Amazon order.
Invoice will be sent after parcel is dispatched
not a good deal as the original, but still a good deal IMO if people want a label writer.
£46 for 7
I was gonna pay £150 for one anyway so a total saving of £100ish
Anyone remember hotukdeals.com/dea…438
Would like the xl but I'll wait and see if the labels come down a bit.
You will easily make your money back if its crap reselling it.
10 rolls of fake ones for £8.99 delivered on eBay!
The 2 x pack (S0722370) is in stock and is listed as an eligible purchase item to qualify for the printer!
Could net you £100+ profit easily after fees and shipping if you decided you didn't want it.

Can the XL take the smaller sizes?
Has anyone successfully claimed and received a unit?
Really tempted to try these out
For people using this frequently and have it connected all time it's a great deal.
If business was booming causing you to buy 3 I doubt you would be on hotukdeals and would have purchased them long ago.
If ordering 3 was an issue Dymo wouldnt have offered it but they understand businesses havent got time to swap out varying sizes of labels and warehouses are spread out with inventory stock stations scattered.
...misery
Re: bundle packs it looks like the T&C specifically exclude these so even if a pack has several rolls, you will still need to purchase 4/7/8 individual packs.
Also as far as I can tell the T&C only mention proof of purchase - therefore ordering from Amazon (or elsewhere) where the items are currently out of stock (e.g. the S0722370 on Amazon for £6.57/pack) should still be ok as you can still upload 'proof of purchase'. Doesn't look as though it has to have been dispatched or received...
The saving buying compatible labels nullifies the offer more or less.
The idea is a free 4xl and buy compatible labels then return the genuine labels.
A good £100 profit on each unit.
:edit: Ah I think if you order 5 items including a S&S for delivery with a week you get 15% off.
I've ordered 7 of S0722370 which are currently £6.57 each.
T&C only states proof of purchase. Order confirmation should therefore be fine. Nothing in T&C (as far as I can see) states this has to be a VAT invoice.
At work at the moment so can't look in depth. Hope I've got it right :worried:
What are people doing?
Select Amazon from the list of other sellers. It's not in stock at the moment. ETA 1-4 weeks but you get double the labels for less money
Im going to test with these smaller ones then order up the larger labels when the printers come in based on where they are cheapest. The bigger ones will be most
important for fulfilling our orders with these printers. Im hoping they dont jam often and speed up the process.
Select Amazon from the list of sellers. It isn't the default option as they are out of stock at the moment.
1. if buying on amazon, you can select quantity 4/7/8.
2. When filling in the form you select the name of the label, do you select it once, or 4/7/8 times?
3. Does amazon email count as invoice?
Thanks

they they wont be dispatched for 4 weeks but you get invoiced immediately so can use it to order the printer.
Can anyone tell me is 190x59mm the largest label that fits the 450? Google would rather tell me what the 4XL supports
I have a set on order from Amazon but this is making me think about cancelling them.
Standard labels are £6.57 & XL are £13.58. Your order would come to £60.01 on Amazon...
Can you order several different/mix and match labels and still qualify?
All label packs must be purchased from the same retailer and show on the same order confirmation/invoice however.
Just ordered 4x S0722430 (54x101) & 3x S0904980 (104x149).
Immediate dispatch and more useful to me. Cheers.

So just hoping the other 2 are sent soon too.
Not a peep about the XL though.
Great news. When did you submit your claim forms out of interest?
Not even an acknowledgement of any submission. Luckily I have a screenshots with the reference number else I'd have nothing.
Will have to chase up on chat later today.
Went on Live Chat today and they've received the claim, and it's already been approved. They said I should receive an email in the coming days and another when the machine has been dispatched within the next 3-4 weeks.
If you want to know the status of your claim you'll need to ask them via live chat.
They aren't in the drop down list but you can select 'other' so maybe they'll be accepted.
It might be best to check with Dymo via live chat.
That's all i've uploaded to Dymo, the confirmation emailm and they say my claim for the 7XL has been approved.
Great stuff to those who have got theirs already
Submit claim.
Return unwanted labels to Amazon within 30 days for refund.
The Labelwriters will start flooding the site soon too.
Or will Dymo accept an order that may be dispatched after closing date?
The Dymo website went from 'In Review' to saying there is an error and to ring customer services. I did this (0203 564 8354) and spoke to an operator who confirmed my claim has been approved and my printer will be here within 4 weeks.
I ordered Friday but they emailed to say the labels were OOS on Monday due to high demand regarding the promotion and they will send them when the new stock arrives in 2-3 days. You still get the VAT invoice within 24 hours after you place your order anyway though, so then just upload straight to Dymo
The 2 shipped are a 4xl and 450
The Dymo offer page still shows an error though when I put my offer reference in, so I wouldn't worry about that.
looking forward to trying it with the royal mail online shipping labels later, thanks again OP
You heard anything back on your claim?
EDIT: Ordered, can't really grumble for £30.
I was in the market to buy a 4XL @ £160 from Amazon, it's a lot easier spending £50 for the labels.
Bought 1 Pack of labels for the 4XL and 6 smaller ones - is this OK?
Seemed to work fine. The dymo tracking system is obviously broken but I think the change from showing your details to coming up with an error message signifies they have reviewed (and approved) your request.
Also I notice they've removed the live chat option. Guy I spoke to the other day seemed fed up alright.
Also, if anyone is still looking, they're cheap on Crazy Dave's aka Tao Technologies which is on the approved list.
£4.69 for the 1983173 labels. Slightly more than the original Amazon price but still good. Took a week to arrive so you should have plenty of time.

I'm getting a free printer, I can wait! Will hold off ordering XL sized labels til it arrives though.
10-13 day delivery as they're out of stock - regardless great deal!
This is the transcript of the conversation:
Hope it helps. Guess all we can do is wait...
The wait continues.
Waiting for a 4xl
One step closer
It may help people who are waiting for. ....any thoughts. ....
I am slightly concerned about getting brown boxes though.
I registered on the 15th.
Dyno should have asked for proof of delivery not order receipt. Their mistake though and they will still make on the labels long term....
amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1
Ordered again from amazon anyway, just to ensure I am really eligible. I've not seen that many people say they've arrived recently so paranoid they'll wait til the end date then ask for the invoice! If I get 2 I'll replace the old 450 my OH uses.
Cant complain though  ...
Signed up for this deal before it was posted here and didn't bother to post it.
Leading everyone else to believe Dymo have lost their claim etc.
Many thanks for that, don't fall down the stairs or anything.
I and others have been scratching our heads as to why some of us have waited weeks even though only claiming a couple of days later.
It transpires these people (yes people posting in this thread) are liars and made their claim well before they said they did.
I can see that currently Dymo have got up to claims from 6th of September.
No big deal just an observation
Everyone here is a profiteering bag of filth when you boil it down at some time or another but the way some frown at others for grabbing free stuff to make some money but are happy to lie to make themselves look virtuous a few minutes later, is quite telling of the reality of the human condition.

THEY ARE NOT REFURBISHED
I'd wager that the 4XLs are new though. The brown boxes do not mention refurb or anything similar....Look pristine to me with the plastic covers etc.
I use it several times per week but the labels just last forever
Writer is still going strong and hope this 4XL serves just as well
According to:
enterprise.dymo.com/Ord…spx
CR-0000009926, was delivered via UPS with tracking number 1Z0W091A6896869221 on 15/09/2017 and signed for by Bibi.
My order was earlier than CR-0000009926 and it's still not been dispatched.
Ordernumber is 94 and something,
I think it will take a long time till we get our printers, especially the 4XL.
I'll be doing that next few days as 4 weeks today since sending off claims.
You buy however many printers yourself then make a small claim case against them for the cost of those printers + hassle.
Thank you,"
Let's see where this goes
They will do this promotion again, it's like this every time they do it.
Or just continue being an armchair lawyer.
I've won small claims cases against Benson's for Beds and Staples and other smaller scumbags who thought they could do what they like.
One defense one as plaintiff.
Both sent lawyers down and I came out on top.
How about not being a lowly bottom feeder and take what is yours.
These aren't free
You're paying for the labels, not the machine. free with purchase is still free.
i think we can say this has been a bit of a disaster for dymo, I ordered on the 11th so they still have a few days left but I’m not holding out hope.
Yes a FREE item worth a sum of money...
Not a FREE item what is worth FREE as in nothing.
Anyway no bother, I know lots of people will copy paste that email template and cry foul here as if they are mother teresa.
No problem, I'll be the silent hero.
I got my first one but waiting for another 2 printers.
As long as I get them I'm not too fussed.
I'm sure they'll get them out to us soon enough.
Some people don't have one but would like one and will then sell another 2.
Some people will have one and will know they are worth money and sell all 3.
Any person can be all of those 3 people depending on who they know, what they do etc.
Wouldn't judge any of those people differently personally.

What you guys think?
* But I do use my OHs :stuck_out_tongue:
They were most apologetic and offered me hamper of free extras and have bumped me to the top of the line with all my 3 printers going out today.
Don't mean to gloat...
Oh sorry, yes I do. :stuck_out_tongue:
From CS Chat,,,(10 mins Ago)
''Due to the large amount of claims made, there is a delay in the delivery of the machine, we are awaiting new stock any day now. We currently have no specific time frame when these are to be sent out from our warehouse. We are hoping it will be within 1-2 weeks. You will get an email when the printer is sent out with a tracking number so that you can track the delivery''
So with any luck a lot of the earlier orders should be fulfilled today/tomorrow, the rest could still have another 2 weeks yet.
Either way, ignored so I don't have to read your ramblings. Enjoy planning your next day trip to the courts.
