Bulova seem to have discontinued this watch and Argos are selling off remaining stock at a great price. Very little stock left in local stores, so it will be pot luck if any available near you. Still available for home delivery at time of posting.
Well made military style watch with UHF movement, so it has a nice smooth sweeping second hand. Normally about £100

I was of two minds as to whether to buy this. I am not
really a watch person. This was only the second watches I have bought in the
last two decades. The previous purchase was a vibrating digital watch. I am
pleased though that I did. The time-piece is beautiful. The strap
is also classy. Unfortunately, the strap and the time-piece do not look right
together. I am not sure what I will do about this long-term, this is though not one of life's big problems.

Luckily this watch seems to go well with just about any type of strap. I have mine on a steel mesh one at the moment and quite like it.

This appears to have gone back in stock around Tyne and Wear and option to prepay and collect in 4 days in most places too.

Just found this deal and love this watch but no home delivery available and no stores in Scotland have it in stock.
If any kind fellow watch enthusiast on here reads this and there is stock in your area and it's not a major hassle....I would be sooo grateful if you could bag me one and I could sort you out(incl deliv) via paypal.
Long shot...but please pop me a message if you could do this for me as I love the look of this watch:-)

The US version of these have a screw down crown. The European ones don't.

Just picked mine up and solid little watch to wear daily. Not a fan of the green strap but I already knew that so will be replacing that before I start wearing it and it is a very smooth movement. Also quiet, in fact I maybe retiring my Timex Weekender, I actually leave it in a hallway as it's horrendously loud for a small watch.

I picked one up today, but how can this be water resistant to 100m when the crown doesn't screw down ......
Biker.Jeff to J9STL
12 Sep 17#23
Its 200mtr WR watches that have a screw down crown, not 100mtr watches.

12 Sep 17#24
OK, but without a screw down crown, surely water will ingress well before the pressure at 100m surely ? I think I read a review of someone's failing after a "normal" swim IIRC

100m WR doesn't mean you can dive to 100m depth. It'll be fine for swimming & snorkling.

So I ordered, did my research, collected and was so disappointed. It just looked almost childlike and Timex 1980s on my wrist and certainly not in anyway anything other than ordinary. Hence I didn't take it but still a deal based on cost and quality.

You should have a look at the Steinhart pilot watches , you might like them .

Great find. Thanks OP.
Two things to consider (I have owned a few Bulova quartz watches):
- Due to the high frequency quartz, battery life is quoted at 2-3 years. You might get more (and you can always pop out the crown and stop the movement to save battery if you're not wearing it). But it's a factor.
- With some of the higher water resistance cases, high street jewelers (e.g. Ernest Jones) are reluctant to do a quick battery change in store. They'll tell you that it has to be sent away and costs £60+. You should be okay with this model (100m), but I quickly reconsidered the Lobsters and Snorkels since a proper battery change every two years would be the same ownership costs as an Omega Seamaster!
Neither of these things should put you off this watch. It's really well done for sub-£100, and the sweeping hand is quite hypnotic!

I was on the lookout for a new watch. Then seen this. Thanks for posting. Heat added

Bulova regular movements are solid quality, but their UHF quarts is the best movement in the world. Only thing that ticks smoother is a spring drive (look up the price on that co.pared to this) and there are no movements more accurate than this that aren't radio controlled.
Superb watches

Great deal. Grabbed one of these when they were £80. Really nice watch. Keeps fantastic time. Mines only gained one second in four months.

100m water resistant means it's suitable for swimming and even a bit of cheeky snorkeling too

Wow - I paid £80 for mine recently from a deal on here. This is fantastic value. It's a great watch. I swapped the strap on mine to black leather and it looks great.

Amazon historical average on camel looks £120 and lowest £80 ..... So looks a deal. there is stock locally so I am giving it some thought, albeit I would change the strap.

This looks like quite a good deal, and for a change with Argos posts for items the item is available at a couple of local stores. I really can't justify buying another everyday watch, but well done OP, I have added some heat.
