They do seem to cap the speed compared to EE. I get a max of 30Mbps on 4G+ on BT (used to get 80Mbps+ on Vodafone), but you'd never notice the difference in normal use.

Hi guys how do you know your eligible for the gift card once you sign up there's nothing on the page I signed up with confirming you are going G to get the £95 gift card what worries me is after the 14 days BT turned so around and says no gift card allowed with this offer where's my proof the gift card is coming with this offer it was on the first page when I signed up but once I signed up it never showed a gift card on the order

Well the main reason why companies which piggyback have slow speeds than the actual owners of the network is b/c the owners of the network prioritizes their own network over the piggybacker. In this case, BT own EE, so I imagine that BT will have the same signal and speeds that EE as, as they own it. You can't really be a piggybacker to a company you own.

I placed my order from BT.com. (If I remember though the link from Quidco doesn’t show the gift voucher for Amazon/ITunes, so at bottom of main BT page there is links to mobile sims. Hence giving you the option to get gift voucher and cash back. Tracked from Quidco 2 hours later, on 1st June, was confirmed on 21st July. 2 days later claimed Amazon gift card got it about a month later. Obviously not all guaranteed but worked for me.

last time i did it i claimed voucher first and and never waited for them to confirm payment but it had showed as tracked ..and they still paid out on quidco.. current quidco advertverts imply you can have both with that deal and we hopefully will get 100 giftcard as advertised and not the £95 if they go by the dates on the mobile claim page t&cs
quidco adverts says..

Take out a SIM only contract with 20GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts from just £16 per month and get a £100 Amazon or iTunes voucher

i still dont understand how you managed to claim both. I am not saying this is false, but i need some answer which is acceptable. Below is the term and conditions which says about the duration within which you are expected to claim your voucher.

Kindly let me know how you managed to do this. I am about to place an order.

How are people getting Cashback and Voucher both? The Terms & Conditions on the BT mobileclaim site state the following: Customers that claim cashback will not be eligible for a voucher. A customer who have purchased a BT Mobile product can either claim a voucher or cashback, not both

However, quidco bt page as a special promotion that states £100 voucher and upto £60 cashback both???

Note: when I placed order my cashback only tracked by £55
also the quidco link took me to a page for non-broadband customers, I had to amend url to get prices with broadband discount

If i am not wrong 99% of the people on contracts will be in the same situation, if they are switching providers. Because i am in the same situation  and i have generated a PAC and they have told me it is valid for 30 days and if i don't use this in 30 days, my contract wont expire and will move to next billing cycle.

I was very tempted with this a couple of days ago as I have 4 phone contracts up for renewal. A very good deal, but what was a deal breaker for me was the roaming costs outside of the EU - £5 per MEGABYTE! I couldn't believe that was right but they confirmed it with a colleague. I decided I'd renew the phones with Vodafone sim only for £20 each per month with 20gb data - useful when in the US where I'll be tomorrow for 16 days, even though I still have to pay £5 per day to use my home tariff (although wife and kids can tether off of mine so all 4 of us can access internet for the single price of £5 per day, which isn't bad). I couldn't use quidco as it would have ADDED new contracts to my existing account, not renew my existing contracts, so I couldn't get any cash back and would have had to change my numbers (apparently).

I know there are better deals out there than Vodafone but I just wanted familiarity and from what I've read all providers have good and bad points and I guess I'd rather stay with what I know. Plus I understand BT can/will revise your contract costs during the contract period and even though you can cancel the contract with penalty if you don't like the increase, it's just hassle that I don't want.

So this is a very good deal but I'm now very wary of taking out such deals as there always seems to be hassle getting the vouchers and quidco cashback which, if they don't come through, this is not then a deal.

I had similar a deal from BT at that time £75 iTunes or Amazon voucher and Quidco £40. Therefore please be aware that these vouchers and cashbacks are NOT guaranteed. Good luck.

My experience just recently with BT was that they won't offer anything as good for renewals as you can find by shopping around. They almost doubled their first yesr broadband price after the year was up - and buried the comms in a general price increase mail. So no longer a BT customer after October. suggest you put something in the diary for month 1 of this deal and shop around

we are in the exact same boat lol
get a pac code but Be CAREFUL getting a pac code alone is not stopping your contract , you have to speak with them again to cancel the contract ,i had a clever customer advise who gave me the pac code and did not stop my contract , that seemed weird to me so i called back and a nice lady did the right thing by cancelling it . good luck to us mate

Bt own ee so things are unlikely to change.. Ee also have contract with emergency services so instead of the98% of the population cover they used to offer.. They now will have to covet t98% of the UK mainland as part of that contract..(I forget the date they meant to have graded network by) This is fantastic for us in rural areas like Highlands of Scotland where Coverage was patchy at best on all networks

Just for info, I tried yesterday to port my number from a Vodafone SIM only contract to a new Vodafone PAYM contract I just got. They said that it's not possible with them, you have to do a 'porting triangle' (their term not mine) - i.e transfer to another provider (sim only card), then back again. He mentioned something about the network providers doing this for their figures, so on a business report, it looks like new customers are joining the network which must be better for them somehow.. Judging by the thread, others seem to have had more success with their providers though, so I guess it's worth asking BT directly

If you need more than 1 sim order 1 at a time, based on £25 (£20if with BT broadband) 20gb tariff, get 3 £95 vouchers and after 3 weeks move them over to family plan which costs £53 (£48 if with BT broadband)for all 3. £285 worth of vouchers an a cracking deal on the sims - win all round. My missus is currently with BT mobile and her contract is up 30 days from today... she wants to keep her number so I've ordered a giff gaff sim to port it over to, then will sign up to another BT mobile deal and port the number back. - Has anyone else done this before? Did you get any problems, or are you able to simply transfer from one sim to another (even though they would be the same company)?? Had a cracking deal last time, 600mins, ultd texts and 4gb data for £10 p/m and £70 amazon voucher. I'm wondering if it's worth leaving her on giff gaff for a month or two in hope that a similar deals becomes available...

well yes, if you can sell the gift card at cost. it'll cover 6 months of payments but you'll still be paying £16 a month for the remaining 6 months.

If you can afford that then fine. I personally don't tend to work in 'effective' payments - i'd rather know what's coming out of my account and when.

A couple of years ago when I was with EE on a monthly rolling contract, I found another EE deal through a third party website that was offering cashback. However I rang EE and was told I would not be able to transfer my number from one EE sim to another and so transferred my number to a Tesco PAYG sim first. A hassle but worth it,

I'm not sure why you need to do the same in your situation though? As the deal is straight from BT, I assume it would be a case of telling them your contract is expiring and you'd like to move over to this contract with the Amazon vouchers included and they should be able to change your number over to the new contract. Unless this deal is for new customers only which I don't think it is.

My current contract expires on 4th October. Does anyone know if there is a time limit to transfer the number to BT mobile new contract? Many thanks.

I have a question about these mobile providers that piggyback off other providers (such as BT, Virgin etc). Is there any disadvantage being with them rather than the main provider in terms of signal / download speeds etc. Meaning if I had two phones - one with EE sim and one with BT sim would they always be 100% the same or does EE get preferntial treatment in anyway?

Would really appreciate if someone has specific knowledge on this topic. Thanks

Good question. Never tried

Just signed up, no signal in the downstairs of my house or in my sons workplace even though they state its good. They are sending me a signal assist box for my house and we will see if this helps. cancelling if it doesn't help.

Interested in this but my BT landline and broadband deal runs out in December and I'll likely move unless they offer me a decent deal to stick around.

So if I do leave would the cost of the BT mobile go up then?
MrMoneySavingExpert to goldust
6 Sep 17 #18
If you leave BT Broadband midway. Your price goes up by £5. However you still get to keep the £95 and save £5 a month until December. So it's still worth it

E.g
4 months x £16 = 64
8 months x £21 = 168
Total = £232 (£19.33 a month)
- £95 voucher (equiv to £11.41)

The contract will renew at the non-discounted price after 12 months, just like most other contracts. Always be aware of your contract end dates and start looking for a new contract a few weeks in advance!

So bad that I just signed up for a Vodafone deal. Customer service aside, EE's signal and coverage is way better in my personal experience.

"Using the £95 to offset the price. Making it £8.08 a month"

You can't pay your phonebill with an Amazon voucher..

Joking aside.

It's the christmas season coming up and many of us on the forum will use Amazon to purchase gifts for others.
Meaning the £95 may have been spent on there.

Alternatively some of us use itunes. I for one pay for iCloud. Which with the iTunes vouchers, offsets that.

Yes sure. The £95 doesn't go towards the BT sim only cost. But non the less you have £95..

cracking deal. I'm not with bt for broadband but I still managed to get 2 sims (one for the son) with 12gb data each, unlimited mins, unlimited texts and free bt wifi all for £33pm. so that's £16.50 each. Oh and I get a £75 Amazon voucher. I'm using my bt sim now and really impressed with the coverage and signal. BT use the EE network as EE is now owned by BT.
