Ordered the Brother HL1212W from Very last month, excellent printer, easy setup. Cheap replacement toner on ebay (£4/5). Overall impressed. Good value imo.

I have the wifi version and it is a good, decent printer for the money. I buy cartridges from eBay. The only problem I had with it was actually the wifi. For some reason it interfered with wifi in the house. I couldn't work out what was causing the dropping and cut off of wifi, but on turning the printer off everything was back to normal. I don't use the wifi setup now, which kind of defeats the reason I bought it.

There shouldn't be a reason for it to interfear with the house wifi .. Not sure what you did
If you have router with a usb port, you may be able use the router as a printer server ...

I simply set the printer up as I did with my inkjet wifi printer. It worked well, but we all noticed the disruption on the signal to our devices a few days later. Turning the wifi off on the printer solved the issue. I'm thinking that there might have been a clash between the two printers, though as you stated, there should be. I'm not bothered really and can easily use the printer via USB. The router is three floors away from the printers, so no way to connect direct to its USB port.

the only thing i can think of from that, is that one of the printers tried to get the same ip :P..
If you know how to get into your router's web interface
go into the dns clients bit and give printer a: perment lease on that ip. then switch on printer b) and then give that one the same treatment - perm ip lease
