hand baggage only fares still offer plenty vs the low cost carriers: 1 handbag/laptop bag (max. 23kg / 51lb and up to 40 x 30 x 15cm / 16 x 12 x 6in) plus 1 additional cabin bag (max. 23kg / 51lb and up to 56 x 45 x 25cm / 22 x 18 x 10in)

Before you go spending hours looking for the cheap tickets, majority of the £30 ones are either outbound around 7am or inbound 12 midnight. I presume these slots are rarely filled hence the sale

BA now operate like a low cost carrier. Not surprising that they have hand luggage only fares like the others.
After squashing all of the seats in and adding more rows to maximise revenue, we no longer use them except to get rid of our Avios (their version of air miles) and we can't do that quick enough!!! Not bothered about having no free food and drinks, but I hate the battery hen-type cabins they've created.
If you're tall, check you'll be OK with the seat pitch before booking, as you may have to sit with your knees up to your chin if you don't

Don't forget that there could be industrial action ahead as they plan to close their pension scheme :disappointed:

You have to click on the lowest fare buttons

I did that is why I get £39 each way so return should be 78 . But after the payment it comes up with £90.70. Where is the addtional of £12.70 coming from ?

No idea. You positive you hit the 'lowest fare' radio buttons as I noticed it didn't do that automatically when I selected that option for my outbound flight.
