What version of the note 8 would this be though

I'd assume it's an Exynos 64GB, the only variant (aside from colour) I'm aware of within Europe is the dual sim models but I think those are Samsung direct only.

On Amazon UK, I heard if you buy something and it goes down in price within a certain period of purchase, Amazon will refund the difference. Is that the same with Amazon Italy?

I didn't think that was official policy or have they brought it back again? I had it refused last time I tried.
On a different note, anyone know how quickly you can get a Clarity card? They've £20 cashback before the end of September which would make this cheaper in addition to the no foreign transaction fee but I can't see the card coming that quickly.

Got mine in about 5 days. You should apply for it regardless. I did however only receive a £900 limit which dumbfounded me as most my other cards are between £5k & £12k.

That is not their policy. They usually only refund differences on pre orders on dispatch and not after. They will more than likely now tell you to send the item back and purchase it at the new price.Gone are the good ol days of outstanding after service. Its very medioka now.

how would it work with return and warranty in case something happens

It's a European phone so as far as I'm aware, Samsung UK should cover the warranty otherwise you'd need to send it back to Amazon Italy. I bought the Note 1 and 4 from Amazon.de but neither had to go back so I've no experience of returns with them.

I bought a note 4 from amazon.it. Samsung had no problems collecting in the UK on the 5 occasions it went back. Two year warranty also.

You get the same handset as you would if bought in the UK. So you get the same standard 2 year warranty with Samsung if anything is wrong with it.
Good find , I'm sure tho going if Samsung history they will drop to this price in the next few weeks in the uk ...

Got the S8+ this way and it was a bargain. OK that's maybe pushing it but did make it cheaper. On a side note hard to not wait for the pixel XL and the Huawei mate 10.

nice price
heat added (although after the note7 maybe that's not the best phrase to use!)

I guess the price has shot back up. I'll just have to impatiently wait a little longer.

Good price and heat added but is anyone else finding this years 'flagship' phones a little underwhelming? I would have bought this phone but the fingerprint sensor placement is deal breaker for me, I've tried it in store and its just odd. Its a small thing for most people but I loved the placement of the fingerprint sensor on my Nexus 6P and Nexus 5x. With Apples offerings, most of the iPhone X innovations already exist in Android (but I understand it will always get rave reviews as Apple do a fine job of refining and repackage a lot of existing tech) but a grand for a phone is absurd. iPhone 8 looks outdated (same design as the 6, 6s and 7) and personally I wouldn't buy a LG phone having had numerous bootloop issues with various models, no-one buys HTC anymore and Huawei have a horrible UI. I know all this is subjective and no doubt ill get crucified but I just wondered if anyone else was finding this? Or is this smartphone burn out?

I have the note 8 and I personally don't have any issues with being able to reach the fingerprint reader on the back, and neither does my Mrs,but we are both tallish so have decent sized hands i suppose lol
i personally use the face recognition and it works very well and the fingerprint reader as a back up,as you have the option to have more than one way to unlock the phone at one time,so mine is set that i can use a pin,my face or my finger, and there is the option to use the retina scanner instead of the face, but i find that a little slow.

I think what you're saying is what most people are thinking really, smartphone manufacturers are finding it hard to offer any attractive upgrades. I have a three year old Note 4 and it's strange that despite its age, nothing really hugely appeals to upgrade to. If it wasn't for the fact it's struggling to run Marshmallow and it's developed a fault with its modem, I wouldn't be looking at changing phone. While there's a lot I don't like about the Note 8 (very fragile build, non-replaceable battery, curved screen) it does have a better camera and a bigger screen, I do find the Note 4 screen on the small side after using the Sony Z Ultra.
I am thinking I should dip into custom firmwares but it's only a matter of time before I have to upgrade and I can't see anything on the way that's going to appeal any further.

You can disable Bixby.

With you all the way there. My Note 4 was the first phone I'd kept for more than 2 years, but seems to have become painfully slow of late despite a reset a few months ago. Conspiracy! Anyway, I was holding off upgrading as I'd enjoyed having a ridiculously low monthly rate for the past year, but bit on the O2 deal on here for the Note 8 for just £7 a month more than I'm paying at the moment (plus upfront cost, but that's almost covered by the sale of my Note 4).
Still feeling my way around the Note 8 after a few days and so far really pleased with it. Going back to the note 4 after just a few hours of playing with it, the 4 suddenly felt pretty old. But hey, it's been a good servant!
Only negative with the Note 8 so far for me is, as mentioned elsewhere, Bixby :rage: I don't mind the button etc, and I know you can disable it, but the voice recognition when compared to the built in 'OK Google' or things like Alexa / Amazon Echo is absolutely horrendous. If 'Hello Bixby' works 1 out of 10 times it's a miracle.
Either way, I think I'll get my money's worth from the Note 8. The Note 4 made my laptop all but redundant, and the Note 8's power will see me through another couple of years without needing any other portable productivity tech I recon

You can set the sensitivity of how bixby activated,i think the default is set to low.
I actually find bixby quite useful for short cutting to things on the phone. It is quicker to press the button and say to optimise the phone than it is go through the settings, again downloading an app is far quicker, just say to download (example) Google maps from the play store, and it"s all done with just one press of the bixby buttton from the home screen,or if you have no security you can do it when the screen is off.

I think screen size has become tricky issue as displays are narrower and longer yet manufacturers keep giving us diagonal figure and not real display area in square inches or centimetres.

If it comes with bixby, you can keep it...
