Sound bars never sound that great ... Unless they have a good sub ... If you want something cheap , but sound reasonable try a 2.1 system for less or the same money , will beat this easy .

I've got the equivalent Goodmans version of this, bought from Tesco when on offer about a year ago. They are still miles better than the built in TV speakers, and that's on a decent Sony Bravia TV. If you are not an audiophile then they will suit most people wanting a louder sound with more bass than a slim TV can output.

thing is, with your standard TV's having 2x10w already, there wouldn't be a great deal difference (unless the built in sound is really tinny and crap). As Antonywhite says, if you are looking at the sub £50 range, try looking at refurbs or second hand on eBay.
No point spending £50 and being completely underwhelmed.

Most flat screen TVs don't push the sound out of the front so it already starts out muffled, no matter what the output. Any speaker pointing forward to the audience will sound clearer. I bought a cheap LG soundbar & it was clearer to listen to but lacking bass. The Bauhn will be clearer to listen to but Hi Fi it won't be.

If only sound quality was rated in watts...

If you actually read my whole post you would of noted I said people would be disappointed to spend £50 on a very small difference in comparison to buying a refurb or 2nd hand at this price point...

"Unless your TV is tinny and crap" like most TV's? Talking about stating the obvious.
If only audio fidelity was all about watts

You are repeating yourself now.
I certainly don't claim to be a know it all when it comes to audio, it's not my field but the point I was making was that if someone is on a strict sub £50 budget, they should look at 2nd hand / refurb.
You even have me repeating myself now, you are so bland.

Has to be second hand all day long for this money if you want something worth listening to

I think most people would be disappointed with anything audiovisual like this for £45 in the main living room but might be ok for a kids bedroom/meeting room or something? Any reviews around?

Nice that you can separate them, especially when listening to music

Quite a few negative reviews about sound quality, you get what you pay for I guess.
Yea maybe can you post a link to the reviews on this thanks

Cheers' that thread is 2-3 years old and appears to be a different model and reviews don't appear too bad though even back then?

Maybe so but they will be pretty much alike the specs are the same. For me if 2 people say it sounds cheap I'm not interested. I'm looking for high quality but some are after a cheaper one which is why I gave it heat.
