Do I need one of these? Don't do much mileage at the present and its not city/town based so I guess not?

You don't, until you do. And then it's too late.

I have this dash cam and I advise everyone to get one especially at this price, even if you only do a low mileage as anything can happen...

Any good deals on front and rear cameras? I'm more concerned about being rear ended than a head on collision I'm probably not going to survive anyway.

So it permanently needs to be plugged in and you need to get that massive usb wire hidden around the car somehow or else it's a big mess?

Do what i do. You can buy a cable which connects to the camera and the other end into the fuse box. Then just tuck the wire in between the windscreen and the a pillars

Gutted I missed the deal. This is one of few dash cams that accepts 128GB cards. Was planning to have it facing out the back. Will keep an eye in case it returns, thanks OP.

I purchased this last time it was on for £39.99, it is a fantastic camera. Well worth the money, better quality that most of the more expensive ones.

I need one that's battery operated meaning I don't have to wire it. Don't do much driving so would rather just something clip in and out when driving. Any recommendations?

Why not just plug a powerbank into it whenever you are using it.

Its a case of where will I put the power bank. Ideally want something I can charge up which will hold power for several hours.

So if it is plugged into 12v and i turn the car off, will this corrupt the last footage recorded?
essdiem to BillyChan

It has a capacitor that holds a "buffer" charge so that, when turned off (or if the electric cuts out due to a collision) the write will still complete successfully. This is better than having a battery for the same purpose as it is un/less likely to be adversely affected by the weather/temperature.

SD slot on my Transcend DP200 has broken so returning that for warranty and bought this to use in the meantime. Will probably put it in the rear window when I get the DP200 back. Thanks for posting!
