The design is nice, construction is solid, and the output excellent for the price. Well worth it.

Can this be used to Watch the likes of netflix, amazon prime video and youtube etc. on my android tv box and if so will it be sort of like using a soundbar on the tv? Just wondering since our lg tele has got quite bad sound and if this improves it then i might get it...
imsi to prynolfc
16 Sep 17#37
Yes, it can be used to play audio from TV whatever source your watching. So too could a wired, powered speaker. You don't really get the benefit of portability and wireless by using it for this and you would need to charge every 6 hours or less. As a portable speaker to use a on your TV as a bonus a it might be alright but I haven't heard this speaker's quality. For TV only, i would think a pair of decent powered speakers would be a better choice. Like you can get for a PC if you're familiar with those. I'm using logitech x 230 pluged into the TV's headphone socket, which is far from state of the art but, with sub woofer included is a huge improvement on my TV speakers. Probably about same price or less as this speaker on eBay but really they aren't similar products.

Ordered. £9 saving applied fine. Also saw the other multibuy offers in the drop-down menu, including link to get 20% off bluetooth earphones if buy both together. Links to promising pair with BT4.2 at £9.99, which should end up as £7.99.
Eventually battled through checkout, having other items in basket, negotiating free delivery hurdles, declining Prime, applying giftcards etc. Reviewing the order, the only discounts appied are £9 for the speaker and £4.75 for the postage. It didn't say anywhere the you could only have the £9 discount and not combine it with any of the other three. Indeed they stayed available after the page refreshed showing the £9 offer as 'applied'.
Anyone else gone for both?
PS Don't forget to check if you qualify for a free £5 when you top-up your giftcard balance - usually by £70. It will say if you're eligible. Free money voted cold on HUKD! hotukdeals.com/dea…971

I have been on the look out for a Bluetooth speaker to use in the car so I can answer calls etc. Has anyone ever used this for that purpose? How good is the built in microphone?
I also needed a Bluetooth speaker for my laptop for work when using a projector. I'm hoping it will connect via the aux cable being plugged into the hdmi /vga connector. So if it can do both things well I'm happy to buy it!!

My Aukey arrived today, Unfortunately it is having to be returned due to it being damaged. The top of the speaker was completely detached from the base, all 8 points where it secures to the base were snapped!
**Please Note** There was no visible damage to the amazon box or the box or packaging that contained the speaker. The heat shrunk plastic wrapping was still on the Aukey box.
It certainly seems to me that this has been caused by over tightening the screws whilst being assembled & i find it hard to believe that whomever packed the speaker was unaware of the damage.
I would highly recommend you check yours, especially if you were planning on putting it away as a Xmas gift for someone etc.
Based on one youtube review that's counter to all the other positive ones? Hopefully it comes in one piece anyway

Mine came in one piece and feels very solid. Sound is very good but the power on & off tones are quite loud & annoying. It also remains turned on when my Echo Dot is no longer playing music. Overall I'm very happy with it.

I know it's only £23 but if anyone bought the Tesco Technica Speaker did they find the sound quality slightly of this AUKEY Bluetooth Speaker off Parr?
OB1
23 Sep 17#79
I have both, haven't compared them yet. You find the tesco one better then?
After all the hype I do find the Aukey a little disappointing, although it's fine for the money and looks good. I was hoping for quality approaching the Bose soundlink mini, but I'm not sure it's that close...
At least mine didn't arrive broken though!
Certainly an improvement on the Echo dot's built in one!

Just looking at the pictures and seeing it's mini usb is off putting enough for me. Can't be dragging more cables around with me.

23 Sep 17#81
The sound quality doesn't reflect the weight, I also found the technica clearer and was around half the price.
OB1
23 Sep 17#82
I've just done a very quick compare, I agree with the Tesco one being a bit clearer, better clarity and I reckon it has better mid range. No where near as much bass though! That Tesco one was amazing for the money.
I reckon the weight of the Aukey is probably required for the very impressive bass it manages.
