Anyways, I think I found a decent one. ASUS laptops are really expensive so when I saw this, I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Good Laptop aside from its only 15" display. I only buy 17" ones now (fine though if your after a 15" model)

Bought one of these in the Black Friday deals last year , worse build quality ever and the company they use for warranty repairs was even worse . Would stick to MSI

Personally I would try and find something with a gtx 1060 card and pay a little bit more

You've listed this in the wrong section, it should be in Garden and outdoors because it works very well as a personal barbecue with wifi. Good price.

I've had this in my watch list for a while and now this deal has come up I'm a little stuck which to go for? The deal or this one only difference is this is a bigger screen and cheaper I think?

Is the ROG the gaming series of Asus?
Sorry for noob questions.

ROG is the gaming series. The FX753vd only has a 1050 gpu. The machine on this page has a 1050ti. The 1050ti is a little better and if the price is similar then go for the 1050ti unless the other machine has other advantages.

This is the one I'd lean towards because of the larger screen - yes the GPU isn't quite as good but Userbenchmarks only pegs it at around 25% faster and I think I'd rather have the bigger screen already being used to a 17.3"

A serious question for the community:
Am I the only one who gets put off when they see a DVD drive on a laptop nowadays? I find it utterly waste of space.

Its handy to have on a laptop compared to a desktop. However if you find a cheap laptop with no ssd you can swap the dvd drive to a SSD bay very easily. Its maybe £9 for the adapter.

Not everyone uses steam, etc. Some prefer to buy physical format. The DVD drive will be on laptop's for some time yet. I see where you're coming from though.

The price of these has stayed the same for ages, they literally bump prices up so they can pretend it's a sale

1050ti and 7700... Why Asus, Why?
But if that's what your after it's a good price, so hot from me :relaxed:

Laptop CPU's tend to be weaker then their desktop brothers. An I7 here is like putting a 1050ti with an I5 6600. cpu.userbenchmark.com/Com…514

True but the same can be said for laptop GPUs. The bottleneck here will by far be the GPU.

Yeh that's really pointless. Oh well. Still a good deal.

I would agree, although I do hate "gamer" gaudy designs for laptops, pc, monitors... I like my stuff to be more elegant and understated and I can't be the only one.

What's the screen like on this? Sharp, brightness and colour accuracy wise

Screen is superb... Mine has gsync as well. Only issue is a stuck pixel...hoping it goes away, but now forgetting about it and cracking on with gaming. Can only. Notice it on white showing as red.

ROG i7, a bit of SSD and 1050Ti with 4GB VRAM for ~900 is pretty good deal - heat.

Much better. Still, £900 for this seems expensive, but if it's the best deal available right now for the spec, then that makes it hot.
