Saw this deal yesterday on amazon and thought someone else must have posted it here. But so far can't see anyone posting it yet. If it has been posted then apologies for the repost, lol. Seems like a good deal to me for one of the best intel mobos around for most people's use.

Also they have a backup bios in case something went awry

Beware it's Z170 not Z270 so probably needs a BIOS update before a 7th gen chip can be installed. I believe you need a 6th gen chip to do the BIOS update. Some retailers do this for you but I can't see anything on the Amazon page about it.

These boards have a "Flashback" port and can be updated without a CPU installed. You only need a USB stick and the correct BIOS to do the update.

Nice price, but even better on this link at £124.94!
People have rightly pointed out that it's a z170. Yes, good deal but 15 quid more gets you this: awd-it.co.uk/asu…tml
Got two of them, highly recommended.

AMD definitely better currently. But excellent price for this board! Also if your not savvy enough to have Prime you should probably not be on this site

Not in gaming.

Only because you don't have prime doesn't mean the deal can't be posted, either get prime or shut up and live with it. Same with any deal, only because I don't live near a cadburys warehouse doesn't mean a good chocolate deal shouldn't be posted.

Your Cadbury analogy is not the same. A better one would be Go Outdoors and the fact that I see the £5 membership card displayed along with the cost of the product. Same rules should apply to amazon prime deals. Add the cost of membership to the deals. Seem fair right?

Eh no not really. Anyone can get a 30 Prime trial for free. So why on earth would people post a deal plus £79.99 or £7.99pm. Basically that fact your green cheese is mouldy, you want to stamp your feet.

What would be a decent chipset with this, on a small budget. Any good mem, cpu, graphics card deals out there? Not built a pc for over 5 years now.
Press ALT + F4 It kills them all and gives you extra gaming FPS

With the new chipset and CPUs due in the next month offering 50% more cores for almost the same price allegedly I'd hold off on this unless you already have a CPU for it.

Won't invest on another Intel system until next year. AMD is better this year

I have the alpha hero... Wonderfull boards.. does have a few quirks ... But haven't found a high end board without... Strange thing is that o found that cheaper boards and specialist boards like dell etc didn't have quirks!
