Apple have brought many 3D Touch features to iOS 11 for phones and iPads that don’t have it anyway - I never use it on my iphone 7 so not really a reason not to get the phone

Got mine last week and absolutely loving it coming from a laggy Moto G4.
Also comes with 2 year guarantee and can be upgraded to IOS 11 as from yesterday. Have some heat geezer :sunglasses:

Should have got a G5 from Amazon for around £180 I think...bigger screen & will last longer than the SE. Only a matter of time Apple stop updating the SE with updates!

I was thinking more of the Moto G5S Plus as my budget was £300.
However found out the Moto G5S Plus has camera lag issues when taking photos of which the Moto G4 had the same problem, cannot record video in 1080p 60fps, the phone is the size of a TV in my pocket, stupid camera bump and apparently Motorola is not the same ever since Lenovo took over?
Went for the iPhone SE as I believed it was the best new unlocked phone I could get for my £300 budget but to each their own and that

I would agree. I've just let mine go so now have an S8+ and an iPhone 7 Plus but I already miss the little SE. It was really fast and smooth on iOS 11 and there is no Android to compare when it comes to compactness and performance.

Think the SE 2 will come out first quarter of next year. I'd expect these to drop heavily in price soon.

Would it not be cheaper get a contract? I'd mobile have it at £15.99 300 mins 5000 text and 1g data? £383 plus pay it monthly

I know it sounds odd, set my budget at £15 per month, if this came down 99p would go for it, can't come up with £300 in one go, have a plus net sim only deal for £5 with 1.5gig etc, and this almost compares

It's safer to book a "Genius Bar" appointment.....but they may do it without notice if they are not busy. Alternatively there is a "send back for service" option

Ive got an SE 64gb and love it. I hate big screens so the new iphone 8 and 10 dont even interest me at all, suppose its a good thing as I'm saving myself a grand lol
It works well and is basically a 6s inside a small body but lacks a couple of features such as 3d touch and the front camera isn't so great but does the job.

Four of these in our house, all perform as they should, 6s in the smaller body. Suits us who all don't like phablet phones! Good price with extra warranty plus freedom to choose which network :raised_hand: Heat added

Is that including sales tax applied in each state? I think only Washington State is the only one not applying a sales tax.

Anyone know how much RAM this has? And whether Touch ID is second generation?
Those are the two biggest annoyances on the iPhone 5s. I'm guessing double the RAM on the SE (2gb and 1st gen Touch ID)? Not clear on Apple's site. Thanks.

21 Sep 17#37
Yeah it's just one of those things we have to get used to. My favourite part of the update is the control center where it is much easier now to access a variety of useful functions like low power mode and volume settings, instead of the previous clumsiness before (and also a screen recorder (party)). I thought the SE was fast enough for my uses on iOS 9 and 10 but it's surprisingly faster on iOS 11. A few downsides to the update are I found a few niggles I haven't so far been able to sort out, including the Bluetooth activating on start up and the random wifi activation (quite annoying as I prefer to use my mobile network instead of the work wifi).

21 Sep 17#38
oh yes i couldn't tether my phone to windows laptop may this upgrade has fixed that.
JamesSmith to hass123
23 Sep 17#48
Just be aware that the control centre no longer turns off wifi or bluetooth.. it disconnects the device but you now need to go into settings to disable wifi and bluetooth.

Which isn't an issue because turning them off doesn't give any noticeable improvement on battery life.
hass123 to JamesSmith
23 Sep 17#50
i noticed that, so annoying. Also the auto brightness can be annoying but when the settngs gives an option to turn off it gives a silly message “turning off may impact on battery life” (it should be “turning off may IMPROVE battery life”)
The SE should come with a free magnifying glass to read the screen, :-) SWMBO LOVES her new Moto G5S Plus

That's fine if you like Android/Big screens. The SE is a really nice device and is one of few very small phones with good performance in all areas.

iPhone Advice Request!
I'm interested in the iPhone SE 128GB model and I've found someone selling a 2 month old one for £260... sounds like a fair price but are there likely to be a stack of these for sale (and therefore at lower prices) once the new iPhone 8 and X are selling by the truckload?
Opening post
