If you don't have an active giffgaff SIM you’ll need to buy a minimum £10 goodybag with this phone. You can cancel your goodybag anytime.

Anyone intending to root the phone might find the thread below helpful, as apparently unlocking the bootloader on this model 4034x in order to root it softbricks the phone and you need to reflash the firmware on it.
Complete rubbish. Got one at Xmas for a tenner from EE. Money down the drain

They're 99p to unlock on ebay, I got one for my father for 10 quid, not much point in getting him yet another expensive phone unless it is 100% waterproof, as they tend to get drowned in the sea when he goes fishing.
I'd suggest disabling automatic updates in play store to avoid it being updated with the new "improved" joy launcher - live wallpaper, which among its other improvements adds a stupid Octopus dangling by a thread from the top of the home screen, unless mutant smiley Octopus spiders are your thing
I wouldn't be surprised if O2 have a lot of returns to refurbish in the near future.

Yes, the one I bought and unlocked was a £10 refurbished one from O2 (no charger included). The model is a 4034X if I recall correctly.
I wouldn't pay much more than £10 for the phone given its limited memory and no 4G. I did think about getting a refurb 5" pixi, but couldn't find anyone offering unlock codes for that model.

Great buy, stick mapfactor navigator or daily roads on it and you have a good GPS or sat nav for under a tenner.

(I haven't tried rooting the one I got yet).
