Only downer with the Swift 3 is the dim screen and low contrast. Fine for office apps and web browsing but not so good for watching videos (blacks lack contrast and detail eg. Alien movies). The Spin 5 is slightly better in that regard (though still miles away from the brilliant screen on the XPS13).

It has a light behind the keyboard not really backlit as in each key as you would expect.
The Costco one has a poor resolution, if you want full hd then don't touch it. I would never buy a laptop that's not atleast full hd

Yep, if it is not collected it is my understanding that it goes back into stock and you get refunded. You can also just cancel the order if you have an argos account or following the links in the email.

It can't be upgraded very easily, well, not for a beginner anyway.
The reason why you're seeing a lot of laptops having LESS storage than before is because many people are demanding Solid State Drives (SSDs). They're significantly quicker than standard hard drives.
The downside is that SSDs are more expensive to produce, which is why their capacities are a lot smaller. With standard slower hard drives you typically get capacities of 500GB and 1TB. If you were to have a similar sized SSD then the laptop price would be through the roof.
Going back to your question, yes there are ways around this. You could buy a cheap, fast SD card and insert this into the laptop to quickly and easily upgrade the storage. The downside is that it'll stick out a bit on the side.
