To be honest it all depends who you talk to and if they are in a good mood. Luckily I have found a nice lady who was willing to go the extra mile.

guys/girls/experts
im going for this, my current SIMO contract with 3 comes to an end on monday and that number is turning into a PAYG, is it easy for me to keep my number and transfer over to this new plusnet SIM, if so, how easy, how do i do it and do i not need a PAC?
You know how when you pick up your voicemails you get something like "To hear the number of the person who called you, press 4" ?
Well not on Plusnet! That's right. They just confirmed during the 5th call to customer services that they don't offer an ID service.
There's no way to get the number unless the person calling reads it out loud. You know, like back in the 1990s. The
previous 4 agents assumed something was wrong with the voicemail set up
and tried resetting it each time. Because who would assume otherwise?
I wonder what further rudimentary functions of a phone I will discover
are beyond the limit of Plusnet's capabilities, in the time it takes for
a SIM to arrive from an alternative network.
(Backstory blah:
I've got 30+ voicemails from people responding to an advert, almost all
of whom didn't leave their number. like me they assumed I would be able
to retrieve it in the voicemail options. My phone was turned off
deliberately for half that time, so there's only a partial list of
numbers to manually sift through and reconcile via the time codes. And
it only took the Plusnet call centre a total of 80 minutes to work it
out).

I have issues in Devon, Dorset, Bedfordshire, Norfolk and most of Scotland. Currently I have no service so am having to tether off someone else. When it was Life Mobile it was fine, since it's been Plusnet its rapidly degraded to the point of being so used to no service or have service but data is patchy. I'll be moving to EE or BT.

Doesn't the Plusnet page boast that it uses the EE network. In which case why would moving to EE be any better. I'm in the north of Scotland, does anyone have any experience of using plusnet or EE here.

Possibly reduced signal strength being transmitted. Dunno. When it was Life Mobile I had zero issues.

Also if you're with EE and due to renew it's always handy to quote this deal to retentions who will offer 4gb top speed data, unlimited calls and texts and 12 months of bt sport app if you want to stay with EE for £9.99 a month. Funnily enough though checking my EE app I'm getting 5gb of data a month.

I tried this, I'm rubbish at negotiating but they said their cheapest 30 day contract was over £25/month! Sure they would have matched or got close on a 12 month contract though. Decided to go with this Plusnet deal so I could take a handset deal in the future if I need to. Thanks OP.

Thanks OP, finally bitten the bullet on Plusnet. I've been getting annoyed by regular signal issues with Three (otherwise would have tried SMARTY) so going to give this a go. Been a PAYG customer my whole life!!

I have plusnet mobile and recently the signal has plunged, usually just get edge now which isn't much use. At the start and with life mobile it was not a problem but now I very rarely get a decent signal. I'm thinking about changing.

5 Sep 17#25
My phones took 12 to 14 days, longest of the 3 took 18 days but there was a bit of a mix up with that order. There is a faster DHL delivery but you're more likely to get hit with customs import duty. If you do decide to go for the Redmi Note 4 also make sure it's the one that has Band 20 to make sure it's fully 4G compatible. If you do decide to go for Redmi note 4 here's an example link aliexpress.com/ite…ZbY
Price will vary depending on colour you choose. Would also recommend getting case and protective film as screens aren't as robust as say a Galaxy phone. I always protect mine in a better quality case which can also be bought from Aliexpress or similar sites. Regards Midjet

This deal is very good if you are in the feel at home countries to supplement your existing contract in case it has a low allowance.
If you just need it for one month.
- I wonder how easy it is to cancel 1 month rolling contract with plus net. - How to do that to avoid automatic next month rolling contract. Is it to call them on the day the simcard is activated or what? Thanks

Unless you use 5GB each and every month or your Three signal reception is awful, I can't understand why you'd go for this rather than Smarty and get the mobile data you don't use refunded or pay only £1.25 per GB for the data you do use. Some of my family are on this Plusnet tariff already (it was offered to existing customers ages ago) but I'll be switching my two low use family members to Smarty. The new Smarty tariff is a game changer

Sorry for my ignorance, does anyone know once you have used your pre paid data allowance will your 3g/4g be cut of for that month or will you be billed excessively for any extra usage.
If i'm paying the bill I don't want kids running up crazy bills.

Hi, My very first post so I'm hoping for some advise. I wish to purchase and set up a contract for my daughter going to college. This contract looks like a good deal to me and about what I had hoped to pay for calls and texts home and a little internet use when necessary. Also I will am after a phone up to £100 ish. Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks
shame this would suit also have suited my girls if it wasnt the 3 network.. need something that works on ee..

When my son went to uni he got a£20 GIFF GAFF SIM with unlimited everything. He's still using that contract. Also for a bit over£100 the redmi note 4 (snapdragon version processor) is an excellent phone for the money. Search this site for further info. I have bought 3 from Ali express this year and am really happy with the phones. Also the Sat nav works very well too. Avoid the MTK China version.

Left them after 10 days. Calls just constantly went to voice mail even with full recepetion. Rarely got 4G signal. Moved to Plusnet from Virgin who use the same network yet had no issues with signal with Virgin. I was not alone as I found out after googleing it to see if I could find a fix. Plusnet tried to fix it but never did.

Has been this price I guess since they launched at the beginning of the year but now offering 5gb instead of 4gb. I swapped from the 4gb to 5gb with no problems. Nothing new here BUT defoe a bargain for people like me who use data but not excessively. In 4g areas speed seems to be quite good, I can get 20+mb/s whereas my my main ISP provider I only get 6 to 7mb. Can't complain so far with service etc and CS has always been acceptable IMHO
