Bloody love this stuff, and you cannot compare the cheaper "alternatives" to the original! Great drink for a great price!

Sorry to say, but Disaronno is not an Amaretto. Due to it's manufacturing process, Disaronno is just an Amaretto flavoured liqueur. But a relatively tasty one, so heat added.

Same price in Sainsbury's until 10/10 , who also sell their own "Soiree Amaretto" (ABV 22%) 70cl for £9.00.

Aldi won awards for some of its spirits, so only a fool would think it has to have a high price to be the real thing. This is lovely, but not too different to Tesco's stuff. I usually get that. Hell I prefer Morrisons cream sherry over Harveys. Just tastes better, but taste is subjective so get what ya like I suppose.

Lidl's own brand Armilar Amaretto is exactly the same strength as this, in a larger 70cl bottle and tastes very similar to the real thing.

The alternatives will be made in Italy, will just have slightly less alcohol content.

Even if they're not, what difference does it make where they're made?
I did an experiment once and served some friends a cheap, supermarket lager in glasses for them and returned to the room while pouring a premium brand out of a bottle into a glass for myself, giving the impression that they were drinking the same as me.
The reason I did this is because they were brand snobs and often besmirched 'inferior' cheaper options. They didn't have a clue what I'd done.

I buy the cheaper option from Morrison's as it's the best for Taste (cheap).
