There's a new beta service for renewing your passport online, you can digitally upload a photo saving the need to print. I did this recently and just took a photo using smartphone.

Still live as of this morning but my god this site is terrible, I ended up with Chrome, Firefox and Safari open constantly refreshing to get the uploads to work and eventually check out... still, 50 prints for 99p is worth it

Utterly disappointed. Most of the images are cropped out of the photo and a few have half the image missing and just grey.
I maybe have about 6 pictures that I can salvage out of the lot.
really disappointed, I know these were only 99p but the mess has deterred me from ordering any more.

Maybe I was just unlucky then! Has anyone else had any issues? Every single photo has some image off both sides missing, and this has meant that people are half cut off on a lot of them. I would have been annoyed if I had paid full price. It's a shame reall

I find with Boots and snapfish (they use the same engine) you have to reframe each of the photos. It's a bit annoying, but you can do so once they're in the basket. Sorry you've found this out the hard way. I don't really understand why they have to be cropped in this way -- when they are a different ration then fair enough, but surely shouldn't be needed with all photos?

Thanks for the advice...maybe that's why then as I didn't even think to look. There are a few that I got away with, due to the subjects being central in the image, but most were cropped too short, and cut parts of people out.
Its the the first time I've used an online photo service, so not sure how it compares to other

Did you choose the digital print size which is a bit smaller than the 6x4 inch size? Also known as Best Fit.
It sounds as though you picked 6x4 so you would get cropping on all the photos.

I picked 6x4. Probably my fault, but surely it should automatically fit the photos. It would be a bit of a faff having to crop them all to size! I should have taken more time to chec

I do agree with you, but presume if it fitted the right size the edges would be cut off in the same way film is edited down into letterbox format for film to keep the right ratio: if everything is kept then the image would have to be squashed. It is annoying we have to do this - or choose the other side - though as this was a freebie for a particular size not sure if the discount would have worked. Most online places seem to do it this way now.

But I don't know if I may have used the code before because it was posted several months ago in a different thread.
If you put 1 photo in your basket and then start to checkout and input the code, you will see if it is still working. I spent some time cropping and getting 50 photos in the basket, only to find the code didn't work.
