I got some of these when they were 10p in b&m. They are very bright, to the point where they hurt your eyes. Time will tell how they last.

Can these be planted in lawn? Also can the pir detection be disabled, so that they are constantly on like a path?

Planted is probably the wrong word - yes you can stick them in your lawn. I suppose you could stick black tape over the PIR sensor to fool it into thinking it is dark all the time.

The PIR sensor will be separate from the solar cell that charges the batteries. But yes - it will be always on and draining the batteries.
as above, just ordered 3 sets, only cost me £20 as i also had some credit, worth a punt - reviews are fairly good and those who have issued have been compensated, refunded or replacements sent
