Think twice before going with this as I did back in May and the signal is shocking everywhere. You will get 4g for around 30 seconds after turning off airplane mode as this resets the network connection. You will then end up on H or H+ if you are lucky.
Even confirmed by staff in three store that demands on the network meaning thinning out the bandwidth.

Do you think this is because of the location you use it? Network speed and types may not be same everywhere.

It can be area dependent and 3 are rolling out constant upgrades. It is worth noting that although this is a valid warning, you will always have a 14 day cooling off period whereby you can cancel the contract for no fee if you are unhappy with the product in any way. Check the coverage map for more assistance
No as I have been to various places in the UK this summer (Liverpool, York, Sheffield, Manchester) and experienced exactly the same. Which is what made me walk in to a three store to query if they had put me on some restrictive sim due to the cheap cost.

Potentially stupid question, but I'm coming to the end of my current 3 contract and they won't give me anything near this good as an incentive. If I cancel that and get a PAC code, can I just use it on this SIM if I bought it through Quidco ? Thx.
onlyoneking to Bazallworks
10 Sep 17#8
You can't do network PAC. But you can transfer your existing number to another network and then switch it back to Three. That would resolve the issue
Hope that helps

Signal is crap! ID mobile use their signal and I try get through to my sister at school (1 mile away) 70% chance of my call connecting.
I called them and apprantly signal is "excellent" in our area - nothing reported. #whatever
Think about it before purchasing, if you know three works in your area the way it should then this is HOT.

We had the same problem lucky to get 1 bar signal anywhere in town (except in cpw shop where it miraculously jumped to 5 bars 4G ) oh I bet they don't have a " booster " hidden away  , ended up ending the contract and switching to a network with a signal we could use .Never Ever 3/id again !!!

Same cashback rate at TCB. Still waiting for my quidco claim for a three contract from January, even though they state claims for three are normally dealt with within 4 months. I've also had loads of other stuff not pay out with Quidco, but TCB has been pity good and I've had nearly 2k out of them.

Existing customers can change over to this deal as I rang up and spoke to a rep last Monday as my current plan was for 4gb @ £11. I informed them of this deal and they changed me over straight away. I couldn't fault them. I live in Kent and haven't experienced any problems with 3.

I am really temped as it is a good deal and I just finished a 12 month contract but I haven't always had the best coverage with 3. I am hoping that this encourages other providers to offer similiar deals.

No. Get the BT £21 deal that comes with a £95 Amazon voucher, and £60 Quidco cashback. Works out at less than £10 a month, and you'll stay on EEs network. 20 Gig data, unlim mins/texts.

Can't decide if I should jump from Virgin mobile (20GB rollover (which I hardly use), 5000 minutes and unlimited texts for £15.73) a month. Going on holiday on America at the end of October and it'd be nice to have inclusive calls / data.
I notice that the Topcashback deal describes a 600 minute call - not sure if it gives three a way to stop the cashback. Also, last time I was with Three, they ended up ending my current deal and offering a naff alternative.

I agree with Rokjit, exactly the same in May when using my Three SIM in Gran Canaria. Only managed to get H or H+ at best so trying to use anything more than simple browsing was a no go! Fortunately hotel had WiFi and so did some of the places visited so was able to WhatsApp and upload photos etc.
Also zero coverage in my street so had to rely on the Three app for WiFi calling/SMS which is flakey and you can't depend on it!

It is the same for me and repeatedly so, in Gran Canaria. Somewhat suspiciously, when I'm then forced to buy a local Spanish SIM, 4G and speedy internet usage becomes the norm. Hmm.

Been with 3 for years now with unlimited data and not had any issues. Initially it would be a bit iffy inside big buildings as their signal frequency meant it struggled to penetrate buildings but that's got better now. The one place that is a bit iffy for me was at home but they first gave me a signal booster connected to my WIfi which was fine but now they've enabled Wifi calling on some devices so i just use that instead. Out and about i rarely struggle for service including places where others have none and the Feel at Home has saved me a fortune in France the last few years and a trip to New York last year.
There is some talk they throttle speeds a bit overseas for feel at home to prevent people streaming etc and whilst i've found it a bit slower overseas never enough to cause me any issues.
As others have mentioned things will differ depending on where you are in the country but i've no issues where i am.

I am an existing 3 customer, my contract finished long time ago and never upgraded and kept it continuing, so thinking of upgrading to this. Do I still need to place an online order or do I need to call them to switch? I also need quidco cashback, what are my options and how do I get to order this on my existing number and with quidco cashback?
mattsmith29
11 Sep 17#28
I'd guess that Quidco cash back was for new customers, not upgrades. I've just called them to upgrade mine, no issues. was paying £12/month for 4gb

I do know how it works, in fact i've had both for years. But it still remains to be answered, who has been successful in claiming the cashback. All i've done is seen some comments above where the cashback has been declined, so whats wrong in asking? No assurance that cashback is to be given to you so better ask than not right?
