Only a deal for those with a student account (of which there are plenty i'm sure) . There is a deal on for 3 dots and a £25 off code: DOT3PACK alongside the 10% off a dot student discount this knocks off £40. Hope this is useful to someone

Ouch - I got my three for £85 :stuck_out_tongue:
But, in case you dont have a Delorean, these are useful for using as an intercom around your home (check out the Drop In videos on YouTube)
Sorry but what can you use these for apart from a few hours of entertainment and then sits in a drawer unless you have a smart house!!!

Radio alarm clock, order food or uber, weather, "Google" searching a question by just asking, reminders, adding shopping to amazon

Can anyone reccomend these? Considering buying one and wondering if people find them useful? Not sure what I'd use it for but been wanting one for a while.

There is no point buying anything more than one dot or echo for a house
if you have a mobile phone just search for Reverb for Amazon Alexa in your platforms app store ( android and ios) then you can control your dot or echo and use all functions from anywhere in the house from your phone. You're welcome

Well, there is a point. I can listen to the radio or other music in every room as I wander around the house. I can also talk to Alexa from every room without having to get my phone out or make sure it's with me wherever I go.
If I wanted to just use my phone for everything, what would be the point of even having a single dot/echo? You're welcome.

This thread is about dots not full blown echos WITH a decent speaker, most people i know use a separate bluetooth speakers with their dots anyways as the speaker is kinda lacking . But doesn't change my original point , there is literally no point wasting money on extra DOTS as you can control ONE using reverb for FREE.

Yep, I think you totally missed my point.

What's the benefit of having more than one of these?

They all link together then, kinda like Sonus do? (albeit these have more function)

Yes, a recent update allows you to configure groups of echo/dot devices that you can then play music through simultaneously.

Rewind a bit - what's the benefit of having one of these?
Hi, just checked that posting and there is no mention of adding the student 10% in the op's post.

The previously quoted permalink should take you to a specific post that states "dam you! thats another £100+ gone ... added the student discount code as well so came to £109." It's the first post in that thread, where the previously quoted post permalink is: hotukdeals.com/com…783 and the post reference is #31943783 at hotukdeals.com/vou…297

I see it .. so a comment in the discussion thread counts as a repost? ..ok :nerd:

Nah, it just indicates that at the time of posting the comment the concept of stacking with the student discount didn't capture the masses' imagination. It may appeal to all the pets holding NUSx cards though.

What was voted cold 1 week can easily be voted hot the next week, it all depends on how the sheep on here are feeling.
