I'm just gutted I can't afford one each for all my kids.
24 drams of rare whisky, which considering the value of a full bottle of some of them does make this a good deal.
At least it's not another car lease deal!

Wife bought me their whisky one last year (wasn't this one unfortunately!), but even the £250 calendar has some really nice ones in. Drank most of mine at work.
Edit - gone up this year. Damn brexit impacting my alcohol problem
Lol, I'd love to see if they could justify Brexit causing an increase in price. It's all Scottish Whisky.
Though I love how you can have a dram at work

It's all relative. For somebody who has an average job, they wouldn't even think of spending this. For a high paid exec, md, etc etc 10k is loose change. If you had a few million in the bank, you wouldn't think twice about ordering several of these for yourself and a few friends.

So, if 35% alcohol is the perfect level for the best tasting scotch, why don't distillers make all whisky at that level?

A lot of whiskies (and bourbons) greatly benefit from a splash of water to my tastes. But that's a choice you want to be able make not be made for you. JW black for example tastes much better with no water at 40% to me.
Plus even if I do add a splash of water I like to try neat sip or even drams from every bottle I open

Agree. I had a bottle of the caol Ila cask strength, something like 65% and thought no way am I adding anything to this. Nearly burnt my throat haha so water is definitely the way forward with some.
I'm a snob so I never use tap water, needs to be Voss it at a push evian.
