NUS Extra members: £10 off £40 spend on items dispatched from and sold by Amazon themselves.

Follow the "Get deal" link, log in to your NUS Extra account and you should see your unique code on the right-hand side.

Enter this code at the Amazon checkout to claim your discount. What you can do is put a dummy eligible item in your basket, enter the promo code and that's the code stored for future use - you don't have to go through with the order at that point.

From Friday 25 August 2017, Prime Student members get £10 off their purchase on Amazon.co.uk when they spend over £40 and enter their individual promo code from their NUS extra account at checkout (the “Offer”). Nice. Glad I jumped on that NUS card trick as it's quickly paying for itself. Guessing I can combine this with the Paypoint £5 bonus offer to get my Mario Odyssey pre-order down to £25?

Edit: Odyssey comes out at £41.99 but £39.99 after the Prime £2 pre-order discount. Anyone know if that would still be eligible for this offer as the £2 pre-order bonus doesn't come off till checkout?

Pretty much certain this will be strictly one use only, don't think they could afford people using it every time they spend £40 or more, NUS would probably not be around by next year at that rate. I think the old 5% student discount used to be on every purchase but not this....

I can't confirm this myself but in theory it is possible as on the page it only required signing into my NUS account and didn't ask for any Amazon account details, unless it somehow pulls them from my NUS account(?) but on the surface it only seemed interested in me having a valid NUS log in....

saw this trick from another post the other day

add item in over £40, go checkout and apply code, see discount modified (-£10)
then remove item,

go to your orders ,
find item you want discount on

click on view/edit order, and click change payment, just select same method and you will notice the price drops £10

What's wrong with this? I have added the code to my account yesterday (not placed an order), then I have placed an order but no discount offered. I tried to deal with that on chat but they say they don't have any promotion available for that... I had a similar error message when trying to buy an Anker Bluetooth speaker. As a test I tried adding an Amazon Echo Dot to my basket - not only was the £10 discount code successful it also appeared to show a total discount of £15!

My point being, don't forget the code could be linked to certain items/sellers

I have had the same yesterday. Might be a long shot but I was really unlucky that my student prime expired 06/09 (and I tried to order 07/09). I have sent them my nus card last month and they confirmed, but they must have cocked it up anyway as it just upgraded me to regular prime (this deal only works with student prime). I have resent email with photo of my nus (and amazon cocked up again- i got another 6 months free trial - WIN WIN)... now my code works again :smile:

The point is, if you have valid STUDENT prime membership, the code should work. Amazon seem to have no clue what's going on with this as I have tried chat twice and both times they didn;t know about promotion, then I called and after some troubleshooting we figured out my prime student was finished the night before - another WIN as otherwise I would have paid 80 for full prime and probably wouldn't even notice...

How about normal working people who also are students? I work full time and study full time, but as the degree is via distance learning it is only classed as part time so I am unable to get anything other than the initial course fee loans; all books etc I have to pay for out of my income (which is a struggle)
