Yes no band 20 (02/giffgaff 4g), but otherwise fantastic phone for price on my opinion. Ordered one for my boy. Ordered loads of stuff from Gearbest with no issues

My boy has his note x. He's over the moon with it. Equipped with a Asda (EE) mobile PAYG SIM giving strong 4g. So don't give a t**s about no BAND 20 blah blah blah....

Takes me to Note x

Hmmm that's odd. It definitely takes me to the note 4. I've searched the ali express site and i can't find a single note 4x with band 20.

I have LTE on LycaMobile (o2) on Note 4X int. So better than 4g xD

Also I believe that the 'International' versions of Xiaomi phones have non-official ROMs & don't get updated as regularly as the 'Global' version.
Though I may have misunderstood.

Had not heard that, but interesting theory.

As I understand it, 4G on band 20 is barely any faster than 3G. It's specced at about 20% faster but rarely manages it.
Band 20 is the crappiest of all 4G bands.
I had a Oneplus One and there was hardly any difference between 3G on that and 4G on my Nexus 5.

It is not all about speed - you may some day find yourself in a poor coverage area & band 20 4G or nothing may be the options. Unfortunately the networks don't give us the info to know how likely that is. This is not as far fetched as some would assume - band 20 travels furthest of the 4G bands and (by extrapolation of the frequencies I would estimate) much better than 2100MHz 3G (and slightly better than 900MHz). This could well be the difference in a building.
One thing that is a fact - you would need your head read to buy a non-band 20 phone at similar or more money than a band 20 one when you know this is the situation (which OP clearly didn't). Bit like buying an FM radio when the same model with DAB option is sitting beside it at the same price.

Definitely go for 4gb. I have redmi note 4 with 4gb and usually 1.5gb free so definitely need it instead of 3gb

3GB is fine for many. Wife and daughter both have 3GB Note 3 and often have more available than my 4GB Max. Phone adjusts itself to regulate usage.

It's basically just holding more apps etc in the RAM so they will load quicker. A 3GB RAM Redmi Note 4 will still show you a similar amount of RAM left but won't be holding as many apps in memory, that's all.
PS Much as I dislike dissing a deal when someone has been good enough to post it, I have to agree with others, the Gloabl Version of the Redmi Note 4 is very similarly priced and has that pesky band 20 so IMO is the much better buy...not voted.

I appreciate you are being honourable in not voting, but the sheep are not that clever & will have this in tomorrow's hot deals email (thus having other sheep buying it) if folk who can see that this is relatively cold don't vote cold! Please vote cold!

I have this phone on Three, global version, love it, no problems at all apart from setting up and choosing a region (UK not available) so chose another country without any issues.

Bought the global version with band 20 from aliexpress just over a week ago, was only £3 more.

Much as I like to save money, the 'global' version with band 20 can be had for £5 more here... aliexpress.com/ite…3_1

That link takes me to the Note 4, not the Note 4X so this deal is still hot. The Note 4X has better camera sensor among a number of smaller upgrades.

Fine for 4g on other networks like EE

Cost more than the version with Band 20 and from Gearbest who are not recommended for phone purchases, only one way to vote on this. COLD.
All Networks now use Band 20 to some degree, without Band 20 then you won't get VoLTE on Three or EE.

From 3 website... Devices that didn't come from Three. 4G Super-Voice doesn't work on other non-Three devices yet however, even if the manufacturer has stated that it's VoLTE compatible. We're working on this, so be sure to check back for updates.
I'm not saying this is accurate though it is direct from 3.

Not really fully true - fine for 4G on the other networks in some locations - no one knows what areas are & (for me more importantly) what areas will be OK. The version with band 20 is available cheaper elsewhere (in grey or after cashback). Don't forget band 20 is the only one owned by all networks (I nearly said used - I can't actually be sure of that, but why buy it & not use it).
This really isn't hot (very cold for me & at best luke warm if you don't mind dodgy 4G). Not to mention gearbest deals (better ones than this) often get slated & frozen.

Don't make sense to buy this version when you can buy the official global version for same price or similar. I recycle my phone every year, the phone is easier to sell and worth more if it has band 20.

Yes, 4G will work on most networks. I have a Mi Max (without band 20)on 3 and receive 4G data.

Not too bad - the grey option (nearly as nice IMHO, certainly both much nicer than the gold) can be had slightly cheaper off Aliexpress ($149.99, so approx £116). More cashback from AE too. For obvious reasons, gold can be had about a fiver cheaper again. Banggood have the 4GB/64GB black listed for $188.99 (approx £145), but alas no stock...
EDIT: Scrap that - I was talking about the Global versions (with band 20 & thus far superior) - this is very cold IMHO.
