Was keen to look at the specs for this phone as i am still on the market for a new one , really dissapointed and surprised to see such a low antutu benchmark score , now while there are not 100% on the money all the time for it to be 20k lower than the sub £100 Xiaomi redmi note is shocking for an unreleased phone , what market are these guys aiming for ?

Agreed a P20 should have been the minimum in this device, that would have put it at SD801 level usable.

shouldn't delivery cost be added? it could be as high as £80 customs charges on one of these... if anyone can confirm otherwise, I'm in

I've had a few Chinese phones and never paid customs, from what I've read if you pay for faster delivery (DHL etc) you're more likely to be hit with charges but you can never be 100% either way.

Umi is one of the worst Chinese makes. They are well known for paying for positive reviews of their phones. Many people have been scammed this way into buying their inferior phones. Don't be duped by this company like I was.

Too late. For £110, at least I'll have a new camera/video player/mini tablet/paperweight
Hopefully, it'll be decent, though

Thanks - getting an unbiased review is difficult. It stopped me purchasing something I didn't need. With these Chinese phones it's sometimes too easy to get carried away and it looks like a stunning phone but I get this feeling that if it goes wrong, the international barrier means most people will go 'oh it's only £100', put it in a drawer and forget about it.
I've had a good handful of phones from Doogee and no real issues but never UMI/Umidigi.

I have an umi emax. what an amazing phone even though its still on 4.4. I can't fault it. 2 days battery octa core and awesome speakers
there's some crappy umi phones out there but just wait for release and check out the reviews

I have had a UMI phone for over 2 years now and think its been great, performance and value for money. (See some of my other comments). I will definitely buy another one from UMI (UMIDigi) but don't like the look of this one, yes its cheap but I think that its price will only rise about £20/£30 after this pre sale promotion so it is definitely in their budget range. Battery size looks a bit suspect. Front camera at the bottom also looks odd. Plus that gloss finish might not hold up too well.

I had an Umi phone (Zero) and it was truly awful. The battery would last about half an hour and it crashed all the time. Utter garbage.
I've only ever heard bad reviews for Umi phones. They tend to use their customers as testers and try to iron out issues after release. Unfortunately when they're hardware issues there's nothing they can do.
I'd certainly recommend waiting for this to come out and reading the real reviews (not the Umi sponsored ones).
If you want a cheap phone, get one of the Xiaomi Redmi devices. It might not be as sexy as this but at least you can rely on it.

Ordered mine, looking forward to having it! First time I've bought a phone without the reviews, but it's so cheap! Hope I've not bought a lemon

I was looking to get one until the soc was confirmed. Nice looking phone, but the soc is far too weak with a benchmark of sub 40k.
