The Aldi one is still active @ £5.99. Bought one, excellent so far.
Good trolling. Actually bought one of the LIDL £6.99 ones there last week to replace an ancient JB - to be fair they seem pretty similar; cheapo one a bit flimsy but seems to do the job.

I had a Lidl/Aldi one too. Pump works fine, as you say a bit flimsy, but hasn't broken yet. The gauge is absolutely useless though, the needle flies about all over the place!

I have been using an Aldi pump similar this for several years (I think it was £5.99, which seems to be the regular price). It is still working well (it is used weekly) and is of perfectly adequate quality, so I'd advocate buying that at about a quarter of the price of this item (this pump may be better - I don't know - but as the Aldi one is fine there would be no justfificationin paying so much).

Any good for pumping car tyres?

Not really as the car tyre volume is so large and these are primarily built for low volume/high pressure so hard work filling a car tyres volume

Not really. It would work if the tyre was already partially inflated, but it would be a lot of effort. It would probably not inflate a flat car tyre though as it just couldn't generate enough volume to seat the beads.

They do but that's not much good if you've driven 2hrs to a trail in the Highlands and there is no lidel for nearby. There chain tool also broke mid trail oñ first use. I prefer stuff that works when I need it to.

Got one, can recommend, it is very good. Still going strong after 10 years. Very powerful, no problem getting my tyres up to 90+ psi in no time.

We have a tiled floor. Would this still work with it?
Once you get used to putting your whole body weight on it without thinking it's going to break, it's a decent pump.

I had a car cigarette lighter powered compressor for pumping up my bike tyres and thought it was pretty good untill I got one of these. Golly, they are good. So much more efficient, quicker and easier to use. Takes about 5 or 6 pumps to inflate tyres from flattish to 65psi
