Just tried it on mine and it seems to be working okay! Only had a quick game of mortal kombat though!

Does it support 4k and other controllers yet?

I saw an option for 4k, but Id imagine your gonna need a very good internet connection to pull that off

13 Aug 17#7
It doesn't use the Internet and I'm using a wired network because of 4k Amazon prime and Netflix + using plex.
A few weeks ago there was no 4k option but they must have updated it. I think I'll try it out :nerd:

Ok, I've been testing this on my KS9000 I'm using a wired connection between PC and network, also between TV and network.
4k is greyed out, it won't be available until a future update as far as I can tell... Unless it's because I don't have a monitor that supports 4k. The Steam Links app duplicates what's on your monitor so someone with a 4k monitor and TV needs to try it to confirm.
Streaming @ 1080p has less lag than with the Steam Link and imo has slightly better colours
PS4 controller works via bluetooth and wired Xbox One controller works wired but not via bluetooth, seems a problem syncing it with the TV though so I need to investigate this further
Due to the better IQ and less lag, it's time to unplug my Steam Link and stick with using the app on the TV

Have you got the latest Xbox one controller? as only the latest ones from Xbox one S onwards have Bluetooth. Apologies if you are already aware.

Yea, it's the bluetooth one. I go to sync it where you sync game controllers and keyboards etc but when I press "sync" on the controller it doesn't show up on the TV, as if the TV isn't seeing it at all. The PS4 pad showed up right away and worked without issue and the Xbox One pad synced fine to the Steam Link box it's self

works like a treat... thank you!!!
If anybody is having an issue with the TV not finding their PC, go on steam on your PC and in to settings, then unclick 'enable sharing' and click it again... then refresh your search on your tv... took me a while to figure it out earlier so hopefully saves somebody a few mins!

A steamlink will most likely be better anyway; Samsung Smart TV apps have always been really awful.

How have they been awful ? All the tv ones I use work perfectly, better than the Android versions for me

14 Aug 17#37
- apps get updated and get worse and worse, icons get mixed up, things generally fail to work.
Unless it's now Android based I'm somewhat distrustful of the quality of the apps on their so-called Smart Hub.

Only issue I've ever had is sometimes YouTube goes funny and doesn t let you click down! Other than that Netflix Amazon and all the others have been perfect for me!

I think it's the J and not the 6 that indicates the year the TV is from. This years models are M series so I think your telly may be 1 to 2 years short of being eligible (as is mine :disappointed: )

It's in the system settings of KS9000 so maybe same for yours. In the connected devices menu there is an option to sync bluetooth keyboards/game controllers

Will require network cabling or powerline adapters for best results, it'll suck on Wi-Fi FYI (Steam Link physicals do too)

Works fine on my UE43KS7500, I didn't have much time to test it last night but the browser works fine and I've tried launching one game to see how it works, no issues. Both my laptop and TV are on a Wi-Fi connection.

My Samsung "Smart" TV has been unplugged from my network since about day two. A Chromecast and standalone Steam Link provide much better speed, security, interfaces and updates.

Got to say I've never had an issue with any of the Samsung apps on my 2016 TV.
The Now TV app for example is the best I've used on any device. The picture quality from it is amazing - far better than from the black Now TV box which I always found a little soft.

K series 2016 and M series 2017 tvs only. They both run Samsungs own tizen operating system. I agree that now tv and amazon video apps work great. I found this works a little better than my old steam link Even with my 2010 Macbook. Xbox 360 wired controller plug directly into Tv. It controls Macs OS and steam games.
