After a few status changes by Amazon to ‘dispatching soon/will deliver on x day’, a new one was received in the early hours stating:
We’re sorry about the delay in getting your order to you, but I’m pleased to tell you that we’re preparing it for dispatch now.
Within the next business day you should receive an e-mail from us confirming that the following items have been dispatched:
“Stanley 195617 Metal Plastic Toolbox 26-inch”
It’s marked on my amazon status screen as being delivered today and dispatching soon. We shall see...
EDIT: ...Day later, now marked as dispatched. Anyone else waiting for theirs had any comms?

Uh huh....ordered way back in July...they dispatched one which they then emailed me and said was returned to them for some unknown reason....never came anywhere near my door as shown by the tracking details....
Then got the following email today (26/09/17) for the one that was still waiting on my account to be dispatched and then saw that Amazon themselves are now selling them with a 2 to 5 week dispatch date but have increased the price to £34.99...really not happy about it at all...

The only metal is in the metal clasps for closing the box. The box itself is plastic even if it is called metal plastic.However, the box is light to carry and sturdy enough for most purposes. By James Doak on 17 August 2017
It has metal walls and clips top and bottom are plastic but it's a very robust tool box I had the smaller one first then upgraded to this one.hope this helps By darren gessey on 17 August 2017

I ordered 2 in May that arrived in July. Very good quality box. Very sturdy and tough. I stand on mine to change the batteries in the smoke alarms etc. Didn't realised until I read online that the groove along the lid is to lay wood in while you are sawing. Genius. I Ordered two more in July and still waiting for those to be delivered.
