my daughter is looking for a Sony phone, this is a good price, but from what I can see has mixed reviews, anyone got one?

It's a great phone for the price. The mixed reviews were when the phone was priced over £300.

You should buy it, this handset has NFC as well. Only negative I see is the 2620mAh battery, if you can get passed that then £110 for a SD650 handset from the UK is a very good deal.

It's in 'good' condition meaning it's probably graded lowly.
Anybody have experience of what that means practically?

A good condition used product that has signs of use. This may have moderate wear and tear to the front, back or sides. This product is fully functional and in excellent working order :unamused:

£229 brand new with 2 year warranty at Argos...

12 Aug 17#19
So over twice the price then... you could literally buy another one on the rare chance this broke after your 12 month warranty and still have change.

I'd rather pay £100 more for a 2 year warranty and one that's free of contamination.

Good for you. You're more likely to catch something from AC in public places than a used phone but twice the price, sure.

If it's anything like the other Sony phones and tablets I've had the screen will be fragile. Avoid.

Thanks op this will do me fine. Was looking for an X Compact, but this for £105 is a no brainer. Hot from me.
Wear to the front and back, does that mean there might be scratches

12 Aug 17#32
I got one the other day for 140 good used unlocked it has scratches on screen and minor wear to body mainly corners works fine it had five updates it's got white spots under screen on white pages so I've arranged for Sony to pick it up Monday and send it back see if they will repair it even replace battery body it's under warranty to mid 2018
plewis00 to tranceazure
13 Aug 17#36
That seems to be a common issue on Sony handsets, Sony will tell you it's impact/pressure damage and will likely not fix it under warranty - they might even charge you to have it returned unrepaired so be careful. However, I will say, Sony warranty is really good in my opinion, they're quick and efficient.
Deal has expired now, cancelled my order to get the Quidco and didn't get back in time...

I bought a new one of these this week. It's an excellent phone but coming from the LG G3 the noise level on the camera is a big disappointment. Everything else is great. It seems it's a common trait of Sony cameras. It's fine if you'e taking lots of landscapes etc but faces look terrible when zoomed in, even in good light.

Well I have one it's fits most of the screen part from the curve edge it gives protection to most of the screen

Mine arrived yesterday. Condition was pretty bad, lots of scrapes and scratches mostly near the corners, glass lots of light scratches (some visible) and pressure marks all over the display (not that severe but still annoying). Which shows that it's very variable what you actually do get delivered - no way was it quality checked before it went out and based on these two descriptions from their own website, mine is definitely nearer average than good condition.
Refurbished Good Condition – An Excellent condition product that has very minor isolated wear and tear to the front, back or sides. This product is fully functional and in excellent working order.
Refurbished Average Condition – A used product that has signs of use. This may have moderate wear and tear to the front, back or sides. This product is fully functional and in excellent working order.

How is everyones battery life? Mine isn't too well.

With the battery saver option, mine is very impressive. I'm surprised. I didn't expect it to do much. I've had it on for about 3 hours now since fully charging it. I've been lightly browsing the Facebook and HUKD apps and it is currently operating at 95% battery.
They say this mode saps certain performance, but I'm not using the camera or needing a bright display, so I'm perfectly content to keep it in this mode until I need to take a photo.
I'll just turn battery saver mode off and put it back on again when I have the pictures I'm happy with.

Sent mine to Sony its due back on Monday repaired screen at least hope the changed the body to they did on last phone I sent them I'm still not happy they dropped the price from 142.49 to 109.99 within three days of me buying it and they won't refund the difference either so I left them a terrible trust pilot review they graded mine good and it's far from good more like poor but hopefully Sony will have fixed all the issues

Sony give you two years and they don't ask for proof of purchase just use the Sony support app on phone and it tells you how long you have left

Got it back today they fitted new screen and body or edges back plate the same but it was near spotless anyhow they also fitted new microphone as it failed the test
