Don't chuck your packaging away as the free Tidal and RescuePro software codes are on the inside of the packaging.

I don't think that this is hardware encryption, just has software supplied with device to encrypt files. Does get quite warm to the touch but very good for laptops.

That is correct, these devices do not have Hardware Encryption.

I have a 64gb one of these and it gets bloody hot when you are writing large files to it. If your just reading from it then it's fairly cool running, I use it in my cars usb port filled with music and it's ideal because it only sticks out a small amount.

Drawbacks - It gets really hot... so not really good if you are planning to leave them plugged. - It's very small, so it's easy to misplace it. (or to leave in your jeans and put it in the washing machine)
Pros - It's very fast - It's very small
pick your poison!

You can't tell from the listings, but it has a small hole in the top for attaching to a keyring loop.
Edit: Just tried on mine, it just barely fits on an ordinary sized loop. It's not very practical unless you had a separate narrow ring for it. But it would definitely be harder to lose.

I did that... but silly me, I put a small "keyring" made only of fabric (similar in a way to a pocket camera hand straps)

A lot of the reviews on Amazon say this, yes. Mine hasn't, yet. Maybe I don't use it intensely enough.

I have a few of these in various different sizes (16-64) and they all get very hot after extended write times. Since I fill them in one go then use them as read drivesthey don't often get written to after the initial one so I'm not too worried.

Any sort of computer device get's hot, an iron's plug get's hot. You only feel it more because of the form factor.
