It's more than £100 cheaper than retail price. Grab before the seller (Canal) is out of it. It usually sells on Amazon for around £300 and at Samsung for £350

Good price but I'd wait until the end of next week to see what the new watch will look like. By all reports if you wanting something more fitness/running orientated you will be better off waiting

They say that the price of the new Samsung watch will be over £400 msrp. So I don't think think it will be so much better that it pays to wait and pay almost double the price...

I think you are confusing the new Gear Sport with the new Gear S4, although it looks like the Sport could just be the S3 re-modelled by Samsung to keep sales going for another year or so?
Unless you've got a Samsung Galaxy/Note I cant really see the attraction of a Gear watch as it runs on the Tizen OS which has very few apps made for it, which seems to defeat the whole point of having a smartwatch over just a Garmin etc sports watch, if it ran Android Wear I'd snap one of these up at this price.

Not confusing the two. A new sport/S4 varient is coming out. Looks to keep the features of the s3 but in a smaller profile similar to the s2
In regards to price it is all speculative. Was just advising people who are on the fence and particularly those interested in sporting /gps features it may be worth waiting

Paid £249.99 at Argos last Monday. If this is the UK model, great deal!

There's no difference though. I bought it a week ago, and everything is the same. Just the default language is not English.

Amazing watch, cheap straps, excellent battery life (4 days on full if used sparingly) and used Samsung pay on it for the first time today and worked perfectly. Absolute bargain for a superb smartwatch. Owned a couple of others by comparison this is the best.

Be careful buying from market place sellers. These are grey imports and it DOES make a difference as the UAE models can't be updated in the U.K.
As to the comment about why would you pair with anything other than a Samsung I have mine paired with a IPhone 6s and yes I do lose some of the functions but it's still better than an Apple Watch
Great watch but buy from a UK seller

You can't reply to messages on the watch, which doesn't bother me anyway as the keyboard is that small you wouldn't want to use it for a long message.
Because you are not directly linked to Samsung store you can't buy apps and watch faces you can only get the free ones, again does not bother at all.
S Health is not as detailed and you can't map bike rides or link it to strava but again something that I can live without for now.
The main use for me is being able to quickly read messages at work and as no Bluetooth in our work cars, being able to take and make calls through the watch is a massive bonus.
One thing I will mention too, is a lot of reviews says that when paired with an iPhone that the watch constantly drops the link to it and that they have to reconnect it. I have never had this issue since owning the watch. You have to have the Samsung app open and running in the background of your phone but aren't most apps these days.
If you are sitting on the fence in deciding if to get one or not, do it, I promise you, even paired to a Apple phone you will not be disappointed.

Definately the UAE version as i asked them last week which means no Samsung warranty and no Samsung Pay.
I bought this from Amazon marketplace last week and although it was a different seller (Starplus Electronics) i asked them prior to buying if it was a UK model or UAE model and they confirmed it was a UK model.
However when it arrived it had a lot of arabic writing on the box, which made me suspisious so i rang Samsung and they confirmed this was not a European model and therefore there is no warranty. I returned the watch this week for a refund.
The watch was brilliant however, i was getting just about 2 days battery life with moderate usage.
Think Samsung is about to announce the Gear S4 which will definately be more expensive, so i'm hoping this will come down as the cheapest UK model as i can see is still £300!

The UK model has been already reduced to around 300, and it was until lately about 350. So I doubt that it will come down even more. However I think that picking up a top rated smartwatch for 225 which is in the same or cheaper price range than older and less good smartwatches is worth buying it even though you will have a harder time getting the warranty than a UK model. (doesn't cost much to ship a small package to Samsung UAE if you ever need to claim a warranty) whatever. Just make for yourself a decision if it's worth paying 100 more for a UK version...

I had a similar experience however I chose Amazon.co.uk from the sellers list thinking that they would surely send a UK model but received a UAE version instead. I complained and asked why Amazon themselves were supplying grey imports but they didn't answer that and said they couldn't exhange it as it was now out of stock. They had a UK version in stock at the time but when I pointed this out to them they said they couldn't exchange it as it had a different ASIN number.
I checked on the Samsung website too with the serial number for the UAE version and you couldn't enter it in for the warranty as it wasn't a recognised code. I also heard Samsung pay on the UAE version doesn't work properly in the UK either but I haven't been able to confirm that?
Luckily Argos reduced it to £299 the next day and I had a £15 voucher for using my Argos card so it only cost me a few pounds more than Amazon in the end to get a UK version and I got a swift refund from Amazon.

So tempted but on balance will wait and see what happens with the S4. There might be some features I never knew I needed. My strap on my Microsoft band two should last one more week.
