I hate to break it to you, but the S8+ is a different phone, and 533 is also more than 449.

Wrong phone, you're thinking of the Note 7. Also, this comment has literally been done to death on this site.

That wasn't my experience. They were fantastic when my wife's Note 4 started playing up at about the 18 month mark. They took it back, and within a few days she got it back, as good as new. In fact we couldn't even tell if they'd just given her a new phone. Fast, efficient, courteous service, couldn't fault them.

Samsung give 2 years warranty with their phones anyway, so what difference is with the jl warranty?

Can recommend John Lewis as a really good retailer to buy consumer electronics from...better than tax avoiding Amazon.
misterleoni to chigger1
27 Aug 17#18
Don’t expect much sympathy about Amazon being tax avoiders on here as half the threads seem to be from people buying phones from China and agonising over whether they’ll have to pay tax when it arrives.

S7 with 64GB does not exist.

S7 edge 64gb exists, just not officially sold through UK/European/US networks or from Samsung outside of Asia.

Just use a memory card sureley?
Sp0oner to fattyuk
27 Aug 17#31
No good for apps a memory card is only good for media. With apps/games being 3gb 32gb goes quickly. My note 4 is 32gb and full up with apps and 64gb is now the minimum I will buy.

No good for apps like iPlayer, which don’t let you cache videos to the SD card no matter whether you choose ‘External storage’ as an option or not

Can anyone tell me this phone or LG G6 ? (LG would be £90 extra)
misterleoni to ms84
27 Aug 17#24
Depends really. G6 has a better processor and a really good camera but even though I’m not the biggest fan of Touchwiz on Samsungs it’s far better than what LG has to offer. Their software really is gross, and lacks any style or aesthetic charm. I do have a bit of a soft spot for LG though for some reason.

I have the same, never even thought to have a LG phone (have been using HTC only) but yesterday held it in my hand and the quality impressed me a lot, especially quality of the picture ... from the other side s7 edg has similar spec and is a bit cheaper
and in my case edge is for £350 and LG for £440 as have some spare vouchers to use

Still s7 edge for £449 is not a deal at all. If you look around you can actually get s8 for 533 from Amazon or s8 plus for 536 from eglobal...

The reviews of eglobal on Trustpilot don't fill me with confidence. Ones like this are not unusual:
"1) eglobal central UK are Hong Kong based. 2) Your warranty is with them so invalid in the UK. 3) items showing in stock when not 4) delivery is sometimes delayed or never arrives. 5) customer support is appalling. 6) trying to get your money back is difficult. I wish I had never seen their advertising and checked reviews. Probably the worst shopping experience I've ever had."

John Lewis are doing their usual price match .... Argos dropped their price, as did Carphone Warehouse, so John Lewis matched them .... out of the 3, I'd rather deal with JL if it breaks down after 22 or so months!!!

Anyone aware of any similar deals on the S7 (non edge). Both phones seem to be around the same price at present, I'd of hoped that the non edge would be a bit cheaper by now given that the edge started off around £90 dearer than the S7 and has been on average £70 dearer since their introduction (according to Camel³). Would like UK source/warranty.

pretty sure the s7 was on here couple weeks ago for £400, a great price for a android compact flagship and probably now the only one true compact flagship on the market.
for those deciding between the s7edge and s8, the latter is £570 on Amazon France. personally would rather fork out the extra for the s8

"Compact". I remember the first smartphone I got, the Galaxy S2, it felt like holding a tablet! A 4.3 inch screen. Took some getting used to after having a series of mobiles since 1997 that just got smaller and smaller. As for using a touchscreen, I'm sure that I'd still be able to fire off a long text on my old Sony Ericsson in half the time it would take me on my S5. Probably without even taking it out of my pocket.
