First post so apologies for any errors.

I got this amazing deal for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. 20% off the whole order making the phone £695 with a free Dex station.

Ive tried everywhere but cannot get this cheaper. Plus to top it off you get 12 months buy now pay later so interest free for 12 months.

The 20% applies to all products so you could get accessories at discounted rates too

The code i used is LQ6G6

I have attached a picture showing my basket and my order has been confirmed.

This is still delivered on release day and you can still claim the DeX station from samsung (process below)

Please be careful - if/when they catch on, they will charge you the discount - even months after delivery - they have form for this (I know as I suffered at their hands & they only backed down when Martin Lewis brokered a reprieve)!

Problem is noone (very in the first place) don't know if this will be the single or dual sim version... I chatted with them and they said they know only info which are available on the website and they do not know which version it is. Makes me less keen about buying from them...

The breakdown cover is only valid if you can prove you have had the vehicle serviced as manufacturers recommendations. The Travel Insurance has limitations on age and past health issues. Yes, phone insurance is still covered but I'm sure there must be cheaper cover out there than £13/Mth.

Looks like the code is UP to 20%, so its very hit miss if you get it. Tried on an existing & a new account. Had to setup credit agreements on both, got 10% on both. Didn't purchase in the end. Sub £700 is a bargain though, so good luck to those who are getting the full 20%

The 20% codes are the ones listed above, they aren't any different, unless some users got account specific codes, via email which unfortunately i wasn't lucky enough to get. But surely these acc specific codes won't work on your accounts?

Otherwise the following codes all work (but only give me 10%)

LQ6G6 - for a new credit account application (it states up to 20%)
LGAQP - again up to 20%
LQ44E - as above same thing up to 20%

I played about with one of these yesterday and wasn't too amazed by it. Definitely overpriced unfortunately just like the s8/s8 plus.

This price isn't too bad for it though if you can get it. Especially with a free dex station you could sell if not wanted.

I have two accounts with Very and the codes don't work for me. I do occasionally get a letter through with a code but usually bin it!

If you are a Note fan (I have the 4 running RaceRom, an S8 ROM), and use the pen feature this without a doubt is for you. If not then go for the S8+ which is THE best phone around with the best tech.

The price of the Note is high but when you compare to say, the apple equivalent (say, iPhone Plus) and the expansion possibilities (MicroSD) it does start to be priced about right.

Over the duration (say two years) you're looking at £36 a month. In a world where some people spend that on coffee at their local coffee shop per week, it isn't that outrageously priced. Like the iPhone, it will have a good resale value - assuming the battery life (which is 200mAh less than S8+) isn't a thorn in its side.

I got the 20% code on my account.. if you've never used the credit option before you'll get the 20%. just make a new account and add it to your basket and it should tell you on the second to last stage of "payment" that if you "apply" the credit option you'll get 20% off.. I understand your point, but there is also a lot to be said questioning the rational of £700 for a phone! I justified over 300 for a G6 for the wife (as she will hopefully have it 3 years, thus £2 a week), but can't for myself. I still take a cold sweat thinking how much I paid for the original note!

On that note I remember fondly how people couldn't stand how big it was & laughed at such a big screen on a 'phone' - how things have changed!

Actually I did once or twice.

My aunt has made a few remarks about my Note handset history over the years. She's your typical Apple customer. I think she had the miniscule iPhone 4s at the time and couldn't fathom a 5" screen phone as Apple had not yet decreed it possible.
Now she has a 6s Plus and when I saw that in her possession I flipped the tables:

That's unfortunate as it was a good package.
How can they make you show the service history before fixing your breakdown? Are they going to ferry you home, make you show them your service history paperwork and only then recover your vehicle?

I only have it for the phone insurance. It's been upped to 4 claims/yr so not sure how much that costs elsewhere.

I always buy my phones from very as they not just give 20 percent off for new customers they do this offer various times a year for existing customers but within a time frame so if you can't buy it at time of release just be patient and wait for a 15 or 20 percent voucher to turn up. And also they do price drop Samsung phones every few months as they don't fall into the apple fix price policy. Apple products are excluded from any offers very do.

So I've never opened a very credit account before, I accidentally ordered the note 8 on buy now pay later at full price, thinking the 20% would show up later in the checkout process. Wouldn't let me cancel it online, then I spoke to someone online who said I need to call their specialist team as the order hadn't gone through and once it does I'll get the 20% off, though they're only available Monday to Friday.

Having owned a note 4 for the last couple of years I would highly recommend this phone. No other phone has come close to mine. 4k recording is rare even now 3 years later, removable battery is a godsend, expandable memory and a screen even now that isn't really beaten. The camera(s) on the 8 make it worth upgrading and the s pen upgrades. Anyone buying this won't regret it imo.

I don't understand the hype over this. I have a Xiaomi Mi Mix, which is almost a year old and is around half the price and the specs are about on par with this. I moved from a Galaxy S7, after being a Samsung user since the original Galaxy S and wonder why I didn't move earlier!

@johnrs What's the camera like on the Xiaomi Mi Mix? The main reason I tend to go for Samsung is the camera and picture quality. My friend imported the LG v20 which was meant to have a great camera but it simply cannot compete with the camera in the Galaxy S7 when it comes to picture quality. Taking the perfect shot of a moving child in a relatively dark room is far better on the S7 and tends to be blurry 9 times out of 10 on the LG V20. OIS on the two cameras in the Note8 would be even better I think.

This was the same offer at Very I used on my Ipad Pro and got 20% off when it said 10% for electricals so not sure why it works for some and not others. I was a brand new account and have to take the finance - I did the pay over 3 months option and got the 20% off despite it being 'electricals'

Been in touch with very as I only got the 10% off, as mentioned above the code only gives 10% not 20%. Those who managed to bag the phone with the 20% off seem to have done at the start. This deal should've expired a while ago. The only valid 20% codes are account specific I've been informed. Great deal for those who were lucky enough to bag one

I'm not sure how they check your service details for the breakdown service but it's in the small print of terms. I can only guess they will come out to you but if you can't prove your service record at a later date they will bill you for the services.
I checked with my House/Contents insurance company and I am covered for loss or theft of mobiles. I would check your insurance. I'm assuming that doesn't include fault repairs but hopefully the mobile guarantee will cover that.

I received a letter through the post and also got an email offering me the 20% discount and I used on the black note 8 and worked fine for me . I forgot about this site but thought no point putting the code on here as its only select customers that receive these letters. I wish I had ordered 2 at same time though as my brother is wanting 1. Correct.. Codes are mostly available through your own account and you get more of them depending on how much activity on your account. Anyway it's good that people cotton on that catalogue is your best way to get a phone rather than doing it more expensive via contracts. So many people forget this option as I tell people at work and they were thankful for letting them know. 12 months interest free. Tip....

Royal Mail, wasn't best pleased last time, S8+ turned up from Very via Royal Mail in a poly mailing bag. No other packaging to protect the box. Would have expected jiffy protected envelope as a minimum. (Although it does dispatch from their supplier and not them directly, maybe Samsung...)

Nah nothing yet, there is part on the support pages of the claim website where you can input your ref no. from the email you should have received following your submission of the claim. Mine just says claim received. Will email you in due course etc.

I couldn't find my delivery note (must have put it somewhere "safe") so took screenshot of order page and email of order. If it's not enough they should let you know and give you 7 days to resubmit the info required.
