Had mine delivered on Monday this week. They charged me £250-odd on the re-order but a quick e-mail and they quickly knocked it back down to the correct £128 price. Need to open it up now and check it so hopefully its ok after all this faffing.

calling them you will get nowhere, promised a phone called back twice now and nothing they are all from a call centre in philippines. proved to them they are being fraudulent with dates... then they tried to cover themselves saying it was first come first served basis so we went down those lines where I said then why did i receive a letter to say pay the balance ect manager was meant to call back never happened when she said she would and if stock came available she would get one sent out , now they are saying because its in stock I have to pay Full price.
Scammers! but they still havent gave the money back .... my advice is do a charge back it costs them.

exactly the same happened to us too. letter saying we must pay balance before they will send it. phone call confirming stock is available and will arrive in 7 to 10 days. now email saying unable to get stock. Con artists. now we will have to try and get our money back from them. oh and you are on hold for 30 mins plus before you can speak to someone who can't understand a Scottish accent.

Complete scam , after everyone saying it was cancelled I received a letter to say pay the balance in full,this was sent out after everyone saying they have cancelled it. So before I paid I asked "is it in stock because I was reading from other reviews it's out of stock" was told "yes we have stock will arrive in 10 days." So after they knew this was an item they were not sending out and saying it's oos they were still prepared to take my money knowing full well it won't be sent which is fraudulent. ( They had payment for 6 days before cancelling ).
Avoid this company like the plague.

Shambolic company. All make a formal complaint and send to their Preston office. As they are regulated by the FCA they will have 8 weeks to respond. And it will cost them to log the complaint, don't let the scam artists get away with it.

I think we should count ourselves lucky.. I had ordered a few other bits from the sale, like the ratten planter and the trellis bogof planter ... The stuff is complete rubbish, the ratten planter looks like an office bin and the trellis planters look terrible and cheap rubbish... So for me I'm really glad it didn't come through now, but like everyone else I will never be near them again

I didn't order this one but did place an order for a different furniture set in the summer sale and other items.
I have just received a letter saying I need to pay the full amount before they process my order but will hold it for 10 days. Paying after delivery appealed to me as I could check everything before I parted with my cash.
After reading the comments on here I'm not going to bother processing the order and will keep an eye on Amazon. They weren't that much more expensive.

Spoke to Customer Care. Initially told my order hadn't been cancelled, then it had because it was out of stock. I argued that that didn't make sense because it was in stock when I ordered and again when they processed the order and charged my account. I was then told that it shouldn't have been eligible for the 50% Bank Holiday Discount. Both agents spouted their 'Terms and Conditions' - re errors and omissions and price changes. This morning their complaints department backtracked again, apologised and said they'd taken too many orders and couldn't get enough from the supplier. Disappointed but their Terms & Conditions also state that your order is not accepted until the goods are dispatched and not before. Had an account with them for a long time. Have now closed it. What's the point in spending time looking and ordering from the website only to have it cancelled. :rage:

I have just called them as I placed order on Friday to see what the procedure is.
My theory is these items are fictitious and aren't actually in stock, if you think of the 1000's of new accounts that have been opened just from this weekend alone then it's a pretty good way to get new future clients without spending a great deal to do it.
I would strongly suspect that people with good credit will get denied an account but get sent the catalogue and offered credit. Call me paranoid and hopefully I'm totally wrong but as we all know if it's too good to be true it usually is. If I am wrong then feel free to troll me

Looking at them (express gifts ltd) on Companies House they're a company with a Turnover of £313m, making a reasonable profit and they're audited by KPMG - they're not dodgy in that respect. My only concern is that according to their T&C's they order once placed is still subject to acceptance (so we could find them cancelled if they want to) but we'd all end up on their mailing list in future. Worth a punt though.
