One of the frequently visited countries in the world are
Spanish-speaking countries, like Spain, Mexico and Argentina. They are
mostly visited because of their colorful tradition and history. Some
visit these countries because of their beautiful beaches, delicious
cuisine and hospitable locals. This book is primarily intended for
travellers, who want to visit Spanish-speaking countries. It includes
phrases that you may use in many travelling situations, from arriving at
the airport to making friends. In every chapter, you will be given a
story or a situation in Spanish. On the other side of the page, you
will find the English translation of the Spanish phrases. With this
format, it will be easy for you to determine the meaning of some Spanish
words based on the English translations. The phrases used in the
situations are the same phrases you might need to say when you are
travelling. This book will not only teach you the phrases but will
teach you how to handle a Spanish conversation when you travel.

its like that in every major city in the world as good as, its a lovely place to travel to Barcelona, it has many great sights to see and visit, i live in spain half the year, crime is at a very low rate towards the uk, just be on your guard when you visit the big citys like barcelona , madrid etc etc

What about..all the shops have no prices on shelf for products, if they see that youre a foreigner, will ask high prices, 10€ for a beer????3€ for a 0.5 ml coke?Police from metro, where pickpocker pinch my phone don't know english, in train and costumer service , airport security..NO ENGLISH!!
Is not that nice to justify all this... Way expensive..you can see loads of great places with less money and you feel more safe than Barcelona. I like Spain..but Barcelona would be the last place on earth to go again!

That's absolute horse manure and shows nothing but a clear lack of respect for the country you're visiting and a laughable sense of entitlement. Spanish isn't my first language and managed to travel through countries where people rarely speak English. It was my problem as a visitor to that country to learn the basics in case of emergencies. You need to grow up.

Where is the respect for visitors who visit that city? Over 3 millions in a year..deffo I need to grow up and choose better my destinations!

Are they all Brits/ English speaking? It may have escaped your - clearly limited - attention , but 'English' isn't the only spoken language on this planet, it's not even the most used. Yeah, sorry, you do., somebody needs to give a reality check, the world doesn't revolve around you and your demands. All besides the point anyway. It's a majority Spanish speaking country. What part of that isn't sinking in? You're the perfect example of the entitled generation.

I'm really entlited to feel and be safe whereever I go..we can go like this all day long. Have a nice day!

I didn't challenge that, everybody does the right to feel safe in other countries. I thought it was pretty obvious I called you entitled because you expect people in a majority Spanish speaking country to speak English.

Pretty much all the locals speak English. The ones I met did. Maybe it's your attitude. Your approach. Do you know any Spanish? It's always good to know 'help', 'excuse me', 'do you speak English my (insert language)is bad' in case of any problems. Been to Spain 5-6 times now and never had an issue. Moaning about the locals speaking their own language is pretty funny and at the same time embarrassing to watch.

Danny, I've used google translate for the common things, like Hi, can you help me please, do you speak english etc etc...I don't know what more should I do with my attitude more than ask kindlyy to everybody to help me because some gang pinch my phone... after I pay loads of money to go in Barcelona, visit city, stadium, Sagrada Familia, aquarium, metro is very expensive and it happend in the metro..where is security, cameras etc?..Nothing to do now..but deffo Barcelona will be the last place on Earth to go back again!..Nobody stole my nothing in 25 years that I lived in my own country, but happend last year with myy bike in UK and now in the 'great' Barcelona...frustrating huh?

It happens, it's certainly not exclusive to Catalonia and you're generalising about a whole city. If you think Barcelona is rough you wouldn't last five seconds travelling the America's. Some bus journeys are advised to take armed escorts. Me, I preferred getting the 4 am bus when nobody is awake.

I believe that there are some pretty good English courses too but you may be in needing for requiring of ask with the costume department - you may need to apply in triplicate but you are more than welcome to borrow la plume de ma tante.
I had a nice holiday in Scunthorpe once - the art certainly put Barcelona to shame and I bought an original Velázquez for two barm cakes and a slice of black pudding.

I don't know if this applies to all local councils but Hampshire does free online courses with interactive videos, spelling tests, grammar tests, situation videos, pronunciation tests, etc, for free if you're a member of the local library. I can't remember the name, I'll drop back with it later. Need to scrub up on my Spanish.

The website is called Transparent. It's a fee normally but councils around the UK use this for members free. It's hard finding the site but it's worth it. Really useful.
