The table saw is good for hobbyist, but you will need to upgrade
the fence to do any serious work. Possible add a crosscut sledge as well, then
you have a decent table saw. Still a decent table saw as it stands for
hobbyists, I bought one last year, and I have no complaints considering how
much it costs!
There are loads of videos on how to improve a basic table
saw: youtube.com/wat…idQ
Most tables sub £200 you probably still need to upgrade the
fence.

Aren't these the things were the sum total in sales is exceeded by the sum total of medical costs from injuries due to them? (Don't UK ones have to have that electronic automatic-stop if it hits a finger mechanism now though anyway?)

They do a "Challenge Darwinism" at the checkout. It's like "Challenge 25", but instead of asking to prove your age, they ask you to prove that you are not thick.

No, you're confusing them with footballs.

In the US where they are litigation mad they are trying to get the auto-stop made compulsory, but they are being resisted by the manufacturers. In this country there is no talk of it being introduced. It's really expensive, so it would be prohibitive on a saw like this. This saw has a really good blade guard so it's just about as safe as it can be.

I've got one of these and it's very good for the price. It's fairly powerful and not too noisy and you get two blades with it. It cuts quite well, you don't have to push too hard to cut the wood. The only drawback, as mentioned before, is the fence, it could be better. And you have to assemble it which takes some time, the legs have over 40 bolts holding them. I'm happy with it, you would have to pay a fair bit more for a better one.
