I know this game got off to a bad start when it was released, but have been keeping an eye on it as they are frequently updating and improving it - gotta be worth a try of this now what with the huge new Atlas Rises update bringing many improvements.
On offer at Playstation Store @ £9.99 until midnight 16th Aug. (This is for the full game, and the new update is a free download for anyone that owns the game.)
Iv just purchased again to see what this new update is like plus I have PS4 pro now so I hope it looks And plays great. If it's not that good then iv only lost £10 so worth another go at that price. Would loved to of seen proper combat against other alien dike proper guns fights and stuff like that though.

That's the issue, there's no sense of danger or impending doom. Scan this, mine that, talk to boring and poorly animated aliens. At least the new missions give you an objective buts it the usual fetch and return. Yes it a couple of hours of game play but it feels so unrewarding.
Surely £2 more for a physical copy @ Grainger games is a better purchase. At least you can get some of your money back later.

Hi,
With regard to the lack of danger - is that on Normal or Survival mode? Just wondering whether to buy this game at some stage?
Thanks,
Bene

Apologies folks i should have made this a bit clearer that the £9.99 is for the full game, which includes the new update (the new update is free for all who have bought the full game). Have updated listing title above accordingly. So yes this is for the full game, and all the updates that there have been to date.

i might actually go back to this now. I was one of the idiots who paid £30 on launch for this and it led me to never pre ordering any game since.

Is £9.99 the price for the full game + DLCs or just this last DLC?
JamesSmith to jonorl

No DLC exists as far I'm aware..
This is not DLC but an update for the full game.

Updates have all been free.
I suspect hello games would get strung from a tree if they charged for the content they pretended was on the game to begin with.

I would be all over this but the FOV on the PS4 is atrocious. It's the most always-zoomed-in looking game I've ever seen.

I think you can change this now in settings?
The game has gained a following for chilled out gameplay.. and graphically evokes memories of the futuristic artwork of the 60s/70s.. I'm hoping they haven't undone the latter on the update

You can increase it from 70 to 100 in the settings

I was gonna pick this up again from grainger today, when I last looked it was £8 and now it's gone up, so I may aswell get it digitally (CEX only offer £3, so there isn't much to be lost if I still don't like it that much)

Have to admit, despite my disdain for hello games and their disingenuous marketing, the new update seems to change a lot. Graphically it looks like a completely different game! IGN did a pretty decent video of the changes and it's looking good
