Pretty sure I Read article last week or round abouts saying you should avoid these. The reason being that they have high failure rate within the year and will need to be repaired.

This!!! I had this exact model when it first came out, I had to return it to Microsoft 4 times and had 2 failed pens replaced under warranty. I had 2 touchscreen failures where part of the screen failed to register, total failure where it wouldn't turn on or do anything then a screen failure where the display would flicker on and off. One of the times I sent a faulty one back, I was sent another faulty one! It would typically take around 5-7 days where I'd have to send the old one off before a replacement arrived, however I realise now there's an option for them to send a replacement prior to receiving the faulty one.
In the end I had enough so sold it on ebay, then 2 months later got an email from Microsoft about a warranty claim again! New buyer clearly had issues. Replaced it with a Dell XPS 12 Convertible which has been faultless.

Can confirm that I ordered from toby deals a few weeks ago, nicely padded packaging. Takes about a week to arrive. But it was DPD 1 day from the point where it dispatched from them.

Good price, but 4GB Ram....? Also how reliable are Toby Deals? Never heard of them before, and know that if I was dropping almost £600 on some technology I'd want to know the waranty is trustworthy

Shipped from Hong Kong so may incur customs fees

They dispatch it to a UK warehouse, then that warehouse ships it to you. Their terms & conditions state that they handle any customs and that the price you pay is final (no extra costs) I bought a Sony Xperia XZs from there last week, it arrived in 6 days and said it was posted from Lancashire.. even though it originally came from HK.
Edit: Here ya go: 1.9. Import Tax
By purchasing a product through our site, customers outside Hong Kong authorise TobyDeals to make arrangements of clearance of customs on their behalf for the products they have ordered.
Our prices on our site are final and there won’t be any additional fees to pay when the product arrives.

Is their uk warehouse located in an isolated cave on the Cornish coast?
