I found a similar deal on Lease Shop on Sunday. I messaged them over Facebook and got a response surprisingly in 10 mins. They said Mazda had put the details wrong in the system that then gets filtered down to the lease companies. A couple of months ago I found a Volvo V40 for something like £75 deposit and £23 a month on Yes Lease. I called them up and they said someone had got the decimal point in the wrong place. Happens quite often apparently

I don't blame the OP for posting it, as a deal is a deal and it is in black and white to be seen. However it's not one of those old HUKD 'got to be in it to win it' type things and while I do trust the company and don't think my details will be harvested, they will probably pester you a bit if you hand your details over - Tilsun Vehicle Contracts did this to me (I cancelled after they didn't disclose a 9-month wait for the car).

Did we conclude this was just a mistake and no one rented the car for the amount quoted?

6 Aug 17#26
This may be a price glitch but don't blame the finder. It states the price on their site, worth a go. What can you loose. If you don't want to try then don't. It's your call.
As for the company, they should be more careful when listing and if it's deliberate then people will not deal with them.
plewis00 to amazon54
6 Aug 17#38
What can you lose? Your privacy, personal contact details and possibly your sanity trying to convince them it's legally binding?! The fact you ring them and a human being is involved means there is zero chance of this being approved... £800 to cover the cost of deprecation, margins and salesperson commission!
jono8 to plewis00
6 Aug 17#40
Indeed. If it was an automated thing and you could properly order it online then I would give it a go. The fact you have to wait for them to call/get back to you with an official quote means it simply will not happen.
Gordinho to plewis00
6 Aug 17#52
I've dealt Yes, they're fine, no hard sell at all, but to answer your points in order, withhold your number, you don't have to give your name up front to ask them about a deal, it's not legally binding, they charge £300 on top of the deal, that I assume is the salesperson's commission and company overheads.
plewis00 to Gordinho
6 Aug 17#64
Thanks and that's fair enough as you actually did a deal but this deal is a non-starter. It also showed zero admin fee and zero finance setup fee
amazon54 to plewis00
6 Aug 17#56
Then plewis00 don't apply for it. Your choice . It's like saying don't believe any deals on here you won't get it at that price and they will steal all my details. Don't use sites like this to purchase anything if you are so worried. Just saying.
plewis00 to amazon54
6 Aug 17#62
I'm not going to apply for it - don't worry. You can tell yourself it's one less person trying which will 'increase the chance of it being honoured. There's a difference between a good, realistic deal (like most of the deals on this site e.g. What HiFi magazine for 6 months at £21.99 with a free HDMX speaker or any of the sub £30pm iPhone 7/S8 deals) and this one, which is so obviously a typo and misprice.
If it's not, you are welcome to come back and gloat in my face. But I have a strong suspicion you won't.
Maybe you can post a deal once in a while since you've been here nearly 5 years...
amazon54 to plewis00

I am not about to gloat at anybody. I am just saying don't shoot the messenger. I have had some great deals of here and as for posting them. I would if I thought they were worth doing so. Legally I am told they would have to honour it as it is on their site. Time will tell. Have a good day.
plewis00 to amazon54
7 Aug 17#89
That was my point. There is a difference between a great deal and one so obviously mistaken, it will never be offered - even more so where you have to speak to a human being, it's not like a computer can auto-accept it. And no, it's not legally binding because you haven't signed a contract til you've spoken to said human and no-one in their right mind is going to agree to let you have a car for £27 a month. Even if you tried to argue that it's on their website so has to be accepted, that's what the phrase 'E&OE' is there for.

Your "mates pal" is clearly wrong. That's an urban myth. Shops/Retailers don't have to sell anything to you if they don't want to, regardless of price. However, deliberately misleading you is criminal.

What lease company is going to give you a lease for £800 total over 2 years - the depreciation is going to be at least 10 times that. It's not like a supermarket misprice where they *might* honour it to save the negative publicity and we're talking a few quid. You really think that they're going to risk losing 6 or 7 figures worth of margin just to save face? Maybe you're the one who doesn't understand lease deals - hint: it's not to make the customers save lots of money...
