It really isn't as bad as people are stating - sure it's no master piece , but it's far from being awful

I personally would wait for it to go into EA Access particularly as I don't expect this game to have the replayability of the others. Appreciate the post though

Downloaded the free 10 hour trial, mainly to check my pc runs it but also if I'm not invested after 10 hours it will save me a £17.49 gamble!

I'm sure it will be added to Origin Access for £3.99 a month shortly - you can already play for 10 hours currently

I loved the original trilogy, my favourite game series ever made, and I've played every civilization, half life etc game.
The writing quality, story, pacing and graphics bear little resemblance in quality. ME was all about the writing, the character interaction, the voice acting (female Shepard was superb and the best way to play the game), the empathy you felt, and how every decision made you second guess yourself, combat was a distant second. It's what set mass effect 2 and 3 above every other 3rd person shooter / RPG. Here they've improved the combat, but at the expense of the writing. It's full of clichés and forced dialogue that just doesn't seem natural. There's no flow, and it didn't draw me in. I played the trial, and that's it for me. It's like meeting up with an old girlfriend who's now 16stone and with a face like a gargoyle.
Play the original trilogy with the texture pack and controller mod and forget this game existed, like I did with alien colonial marines and Duke nukem and battlecruiser 3000ad. This is alien resurrection to the previous 3.

I loved ME1-3. I just could not give a crap about any of the characters in Andromeda and it felt like a real slog to get through to the end. Wait for it to be on Origin Access and your £20 will give you so much more. Even if you need to wait another year.
The reviews were damning. I read one which said that it messed up the glory of the previous trilogy. :disappointed:
I'll only think of considering this once it nears £5 in a few years. So many more titles to play, heck, at this price I'd be buying No Man's Sky what with the recent update.

Messed up the glory of the original trilogy? Didn't Mass Effect 3 already do that? It must be bad if it's made people forget about that...
Probably next March when it's been out for a year. That seems to be the general rule (judging by Titanfall 2 just added and Battlefield 1 coming soon).

Neither of them games have been out a year.

*Neither of those. But my bad - I thought Titanfall 2 had come out in August last year, for some reason - and I thought Battlefield 1 hadn't hit Access yet but now I see that it has. So expect Andromeda in January? Christmas?

No, writes is fine. As in "the popular author is currently writing their new novel"; writing doesn't imply using a pen these days. Check any dictionary.
Swing and a miss there, kiddo.

I know how subjective a question this is, but is it worth £17.49? Big fan of the original trilogy but the reviews of this one made me want to hold off till a deep sale (like this). But the more I hear about it the more is seems no one involved in making it gave a shit about it

Couldn't of said it better.....anyone actually genuinely enjoy this game? It's been patched many times to fix bugs so is it still not worth it?

Well it won't surprise you to learn that people who can write at a basic level tend to earn more. Earning more gives one a much better "deal" than anything listed on this site.

It would appear you've mastered the basics of writing, (well done you), but hadn't reached earnings that would prevent Ghost Master being anything other than a cracking deal at £1.22 in 2015. Then again, a lot can change in 2 years since your one and only contribution to this site. One can only assume immeasurable fortune lines your golden pockets these days, so thank goodness for your writing skills which are truly par excellence.
Anyway, everyone has a soft spot for a troll, so thanks for the 'lols'.

Ha, you think that people who correct grammar are "trolls". Wow! You're a funny guy.

People who disrupt the normal flow of discussion/conversation, with unrelated comments are considered "trolls".

My gf loved it, but she even liked the end of Mass Effect 3, also Dragon Age 2 is her favourite Dragon Age game so take that with a pinch of salt. The small parts I've seen her play though seem like a few steps forward from Mass Effect 3 when everything else has moved on ten or so steps! Very dated looking in every way apart from the world itself...
I for one am looking forward to playing it when I finish The Witcher: Enhanced Edition again :face_with_monocle:

So I was in the same shoes, I LOVED ME2 and 3 and when I saw the horror stories of this game I was really gutted, and was having none of it. I bought it for £20 off ebay recently and I have to say it's really not that bad. It has been patched up well so rarely any bugs, the story is somewhat flat but has it's shining moments and the combat really is a joy. Apart from the facial expressions the graphics, shadow/lighting and texture work are borderline beautiful. It's worth the price for sure. Try to judge the game on it's own and not holding it up against the previous title and you will appreciate it for what it is and not slacking it off for what it should've been.
