Cheapest I have found this TV everywhere else seems to be selling for over £1k. This comes with a 5 years warranty and 6 month's free Netflix according to the LG website. Also £40 quidco cash back but not guaranteed.

I have the 55inch 2016 model of this UH7700, ever so slight light bleed but not massively noticeable. Apart from that it upscales HD very well and on Xbox One looks great too. I was a Samsung guy previously but would definitely recommend LG now. The magic remote is kinda cool too.

Hi all, Maybe someone could help me out been looking for a new TV for a while now mainly for connecting to my PC for gaming. According to the Displayspec website posted above this has a refresh rate of 120Hz - What I never know is what resolution this applies to (obviously not 4k) but I wonder if that means 120Hz @ 1440? which is where I'm looking to game at but not be limited to 60Hz.... 15ms input lag doesn't seem to bad either.
If anyone has any useful info or recommendations on what I should be looking at I would really appreciate it.
@pjd1972 Maybe you might be able to shed some light?

If you can find a KS7000/8000 around somewhere (sometimes richer sounds have them in stock, sometimes curry's) - they'll now nearly always be refurbished/ex-display and carry a 1 year warranty - you can get them for a good price, yesterday they had a 49KS7000 for £499 at my local Currys. These are supposed to be good for gaming as they have a low input lag. They also have a VA panel and have a 120hz refresh rate. They are vastly superior to 2017 MU range which uses an IPS panel and has a 60hz rate. Samsung have basically rebranded their KS line from last year as QLED. However, these TVs are always very quick off the shelf so you need to basically bookmark each respective webpage and then ring in to reserve the model when in stock!

This TV is RGBW which is not 4k as 1 in 4 pixels is blank essentially really meaning 3k

What's your budget? You get what you pay for with 4k TV's
If it's cheap, there's usually a good reason.
If you want my advice, head over to the AVforums and find an LG OLED B6 or C6 if you prefer curved, the site is full of enthusiasts who will all be no doubt upgrading to the b7, e7 etc and they look after their stuff, you can usually find excellent TV's, most of which have also been professionally caibrated.
If you pay 900 quid for a new 4k TV, unless it's a misprice, you will just end up with a sub par panel

If you can spend £200 more - then an easy suggestion is the Panasonic 59DX902b, easily the best LED TV to date. It's fully backlit rather than edge lit so can actually produce true HDR. Currently at Richer Sounds clearance for 1099

I went for the LG 55" uh850v a few months back for around £700. Has 3d, proper 4k (shocked if this really is an rgbw set) Might come on offer again from currys

Hi..UH850V must be proper 4k set. The main difference between two set is, UH850V has 8 bits + FRC panel. But SJ8500 is 10 Bits panel.

Difference between 10bit and 8 bit +FRC is unnoticeable by the human eye. Biggest difference is to your wallet, the 850v is/was a lot cheaper and the 850V (also known as uh8500) has 3d. Plus, for some reason, the 850v/uh8500 will go brighter than the sj8500 - it looks a bit of a shoddy panel. (by bit, I mean its utter crap)
Looks like a poor lineup from LG this year, bar the expensive OLED sets. I still think the C6 if you can find one for £1200 is the one to get.

This isn't actually true.
If the source used is 10bit or higher it is very possible to notice a difference between 8bit + FRC and 10 bit, furthermore the constant flickering between shades of colours to fool your eyes into perceiving the missing colours can cause eyestrain for some people.

Actually it's "Lucky" and "Goldstar" - a Korean company that got on the Electrics by making good quality CHEAP VHS blanks. I remember the fantastic Goldstar blanks which were better than everything else INCLUDING big name brands like Sony TDK etc which was 5 times the price AT LEAST

If your going to drop this kind of change on a TV, don't bother, save the extra and go OLED, the 2017 range will be around £1500 in a few months and the difference is huge.
True story, I bought a 55UH770v earlier this year and it had awful backlight bleed, replaced with the infamous KS7000 and the plastic came loose from the actual panel, I'll avoid the free fire blanket gags, in the end I picked up a 55OLEDB6v for £1350 with a 6 year guarantee, the TV is absolutely beautiful, it isn't as bright as some LED panels, but they all look artificial anyway, even the wife thinks she's looking through a window with a solid 4k source, and she's completely ignorant with technology.
Like with everything you get what you pay for, don't waste your cash on this tat.

I've been down the second hand root before when the TV's were a lot more reliable but not nowadays. The TV's are becoming less reliable. Buying a second hand unit right now is like buying a ticking time bomb. Go for 5 years guarantee where ever possible.

What on earth are you talking about?
Not a lot to go wrong on modern TV's, and even when they do have an issue the PCBs for the popular brands are mostly all on eBay and fixing usually involves using just a screwdriver. Most popular faults are TCON and Power board. Easy fixes.
Samsung KS7000 is an average TV, i have the KS8000 as a bedroom TV and it's not much better.

Just got mine and the smart features on this telly are amazing youtube Netflix and sky channels can all be controlled by voice, but of the box picture isn't as good as my old smasung plasma ps51d6900 . Will need to try some different setting

If you're interested in 3D, (my kids are) I bought a 3D projector instead, it's much better watching 3D on a much bigger screen anyway. And it leaves you free to chose whichever 4KTV you like.
