You'd be taking a hit on the screen resolution then.
But for a brand new tablet with half-decent specs this isn't a bad deal and at least it's branded and based in the UK.
For anyone interested, an APQ8017 processor is better known as a Snapdragon 425, which is a lot better than the Snapdragon 212 in the previous models.

I'd buy this, but I'm worried the deep, booming Dolby Atmos sound that delivers a theatre-like experience might upset my neighbours.

Tis true.
Haven't stayed in a hotel without that in a bloody long time mind.
I had a micro USB to Hdmi adapter thing that worked fine on my last Lenovo tablet. I presume that's still the workaround if you've no network access.

You can use portable hotspot mode and your phone as a router, even if you don't actually connect the internet on it.

I am sure you can do all these things like buy a chromecast, use your phone as a router, stream etc. But the easy answer is an output on the tablet, simple and job done.

Until you forget the not-that-standard mini/micro-HDMI cable. Most people will always be carrying their phone so nothing else needs buying.
It's not full HD but not a bad price. Would prefer the plus version and pay a bit extra

So would I. Unfortunately the plus is more than a "bit extra". Well over double

This looks like it's the same as the Tab 3 apart from a few upgrades. Is the screen going to be the same as the Tab 3 which is £69.99 at Argos too?

I just bought an Archos neon 101e as it was one of only 2 tablets I could find at 10" and with Android 7. When I got it, it was Android 6. Thought it was a good price at 99.99, until I checked the specs on the actual tablet!

for a brand new tablet the specs are pretty awful.... saw the heat of this and had to take a look, but then wasn't wowd by what i read. not voted either way and not suggesting a cold deal, just simply shame on the half ar$ed attempt at the spec.

It's a Qualcomm chip, it should be okay. No sim slot though, so you'll have to hotspot it to your phone when you're out and about... At which point; why not just use the phone?

Could somebody who got this tablet from Argos check it has a micro USB (as in the specs) or USB-C (as in this review trustedreviews.com/rev…b-4) please? Trying to slowly move all my gadgets to USB-C and reduce the number of chargers/wires around the house/office/car

I have spotted this also, some of the pictures show it as micro usb - but one one of the youtube videos it shows it as USB C

It's micro USB.
Also if you are thinking of buying a protector, don't get the Tab 4 plus one from argos, it doesn't fit properly, the buttons and charger location must be slightly different on the tab 4 compared to tab 4 plus.

If they are still available the Lenovo Yoga 8" which is a similar spec with a 20 hour battery life for an extra £20 and this comes with a case as well
The tab 3 8inch has 2gb ram but is pretty sluggish for some reason. Is this any different?

Looking at benchmarks anywhere from 12% to 30% benchmark improvement depending on use. The higher end percentage tends to be general performance benchmarks the lower end in gaming benchmarks.

How do I add a deal please? Argos Bush Spiral 10 inch 32gb tablet reduced to £79.99. Bought one yesterday and it's fab for browsing. X
Had the tablet a few hours now, very impressed with it. Previously had the tab 3 but sent it back as wasn't happy. This is snappy and feels good. Coming from my Hudl 2 I am happy for the money

Thanks OP for posting this deal. I am actually using the Lenovo Tab 4 to type this right now. I bought the Lenovo Tab 3 8 inch that was posted here for £70 and returned today in exchange for the Tab 4, 8 inch. All I can say is what a massive difference! For the extra £30, you get Android 7 and a Snapdragon processor. The responsiveness between the tablets is shocking. The Tab 3, was very laggy compared to the Tab 4. Well worth the extra £30. I kid you not, the performance difference is huge between the two devices. If your budget stretches to the extra £30 and you bought this deal, I would highly recommend exchanging the Tab 3 for the Tab 4 if an Argos in your area has stock.
